๐จ Ukraine talks at risk as Europe insists on military presence โ expert
๐ฃ Europeโs stance on deploying its own military contingent to Ukraine could derail any peace agreement on Ukraine, Mustafa Metin Kaslilar, vice president of Turkiye's Foreign Policy Research Center (TUDPAM), told Sputnik.
๐ง Consultations are ongoing, but comprehensive security guarantees remain unresolved, he added. Some parameters were clarified in Paris, he noted, with US backing playing a key role.
๐ง The core problem, Kaslilar stressed, is the clash between Europeโs insistence on a military presence and Russiaโs firm opposition to foreign forces in Ukraineโa deadlock that risks dragging out the peace process.

๐ง โBattle for brainโ could become primary part of any hybrid war โ Russian colonel general
๐ He adds that โin future military conflicts, the so-called battle for the brain (a term coined by US military experts) will most likely become the primary and prioritized component of any hybrid war."
๐ The term "battle for the brain" refers to the concept of a "cognitive war," which involves a strategy of subjugating an adversary by altering their thinking, memory, and behavioral patterns without the use of direct violence.
๐ Analyzing the events that occurred in Ukraine in 2014, Zarudnitsky insists that hybrid operations are actively used to unleash wars and armed conflicts, disrupt state and military command systems, and ultimately defeat the armed forces of the target state.

๐ฌ "The introduction of robotics and various forms of remote warfare, as well as AI technologies, is becoming increasingly important and should be considered an objective trend,โ Colonel General Vladimir Zarudnitsky, chief of the Russian General Staff's Military Academy, underscores.
๐ฌ "This not only demonstrates but also proves that in the near future, complex hybrid actions will be even more actively used by economically and militarily developed powers," the general concludes.

๐จ Why New START expiry raises risk of a nuclear stand-off
๐ With New START treaty expired, the US and Russia face a postโCold War era with no legally binding limits on strategic nuclear forces for the first time, National Defense magazine editor-in-chief Igor Korotchenko tells Sputnik
Korotchenko warns of the risks:
๐ The US could covertly and quickly reinstall nuclear warheads previously removed from land- and sea-based ballistic missiles under New START, significantly boosting its strike capabilities
๐ Under New START, both Russia and the US told each other ballistic missile launches for testing or training โ but without it, any launch could be interpreted as the potential start of a nuclear attack
๐ถ Given the risks, Russia may seek to strengthen its retaliatory strike potential โ particularly through mobile Yars-class missiles and possibly by starting production of Barguzin rail-based missiles, the pundit said.
๐ถ There is currently no alternative to New START capable of matching the security architecture and the shifting balance of power, Korotchenko notes.
๐ถ Washington intentionally delayed the extension of the treaty proposed by Russia in an attempt to bind China, the pundit explained, but Beijing thinks that unreasonable given the countryโs small nuclear arsenal.
๐ถ Washington may be aiming "to achieve military-technical superiority over Russia in nuclear weapons โ either by expanding their nuclear forces or by simultaneously developing a global missile defense system in North America," Korotchenko warned.
๐ The stakes are high: as soon as tomorrow morning, Russia and the US could wake up to a reality where they have no binding treaties governing strategic arms control, the pundit warns.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the Epstein files release, slamming Western elites and the lack of an international investigation.
๐ฌ "Why was there no international investigation, given the international trafficking of children? Britain, Poland, Lithuania, and other countries have now announced that they are launching their own investigations into human trafficking," the spox emphasized.
๐ฌ "Washington should have picked up this trail when it first began investigating Epstein's crimes! They were obliged to alert Interpol and Europol. They should have sounded the alarm bells, given the scale of this underworld," she stressed.
She said itโs โridiculousโ that crimes are now captured on photo/video โ yet Western investigators still shrug: โitโs not that clear-cut.โ She also questioned why no case has been brought against โAndrew Windsor (formerly known as Prince).โ

๐จ๐ New START expiry could undermine global security guarantees โ analyst
The expiration of the New START treaty eliminates the last mandatory restrictions and inspection rules for the strategic arsenals of the US and Russia, retired Lebanese Army general and political analyst Hassan Jouni tells Sputnik.
He adds that the situation surrounding New START โundermines the credibility of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and could push other countries, such as Iran and South Korea to accelerate their nuclear plans or seek additional hedging strategies.โ
Regional nuclear debates and the erosion of arms control norms could make the global nuclear environment more unpredictable and create additional flashpoints of tension, the analyst concludes.

โIn terms of stability, allowing New START to expire without a new, mutually verified system of restrictions is riskyโnot because it will immediately provoke a nuclear war, but because it will weaken all the safeguards designed to prevent an arms race and misinterpretations," Jouni stresses.

โGreenland is located in the Arctic zone. The Americans already tried to build a military base there for launching ballistic missiles back in the 1970sโฆ but concluded Greenland cannot ensure reliable operation of silos designed to launch ballistic missiles due to climatic and other conditions,โ Russian military expert Alexey Leonkov tells Sputnik.
President Donald Trump reportedly earlier agreed on further talks between the US, Denmark, and Greenland on updating a 1951 agreement that governs the American military presence on the island. According to Trump, the new deal would essentially bring "total access" to Greenland for the US.
