โœ๏ธ North Korea's Kim Yo-jong demands ROK's explanation on airspace violation

South Korea must provide explanations regardless of whether the drone that crossed the demilitarized zone was civilian or military, said Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

"The ROK authorities can not evade their responsibility for the grave violation of our sovereignty," the statement reads as cited by the KCNA.

๐Ÿ™… Maps donโ€™t lie: Trump has no alternative but lock down Greenland

๐Ÿ—ฃ Donald Trump must take Greenland โ€œwhatever the costโ€, insists The Hill.

Trump has his sights set on the island because โ€œthe map leaves little room for alternatives,โ€ it notes.

It emphasizes that buying Greenland beats bullying it, and a negotiated handover โ€” with firm guarantees for Greenlanders and compensation for Denmark โ€” would be the preferred option - vastly less destabilizing than any military gambit.

Despite the harsh rhetoric from European leaders, they will be unable to take any real action to prevent the US from taking control of the island, regardless of the method chosen by the Trump administration, speculates the publication.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Europe benefits enormously from American security guarantees, it notes, but โ€œrecoils whenever Washington acts like a power rather than a charity.โ€

The outlet reminds: European nations are posturing and claiming that Greenland is not for sale, while themselves relying on US troops, cash and missiles.

๐Ÿ—ฃ โ€œGreenland matters because the Arctic matters,โ€ noting that the island has become a strategic forward outpost in a region set to shape future global power balances.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Canada fears being Trump's next target - report

๐Ÿ’ฌ "The shock capture of Venezuelan President Nicolรกs Maduro and Trumpโ€™s ramped-up talk of seizing Greenland have rattled Canada, forcing citizens to take seriously the US presidentโ€™s past threats to Canadian sovereignty," Bloomberg reports.

There are concerns in Canada that Trump could use "military coercion" to force Canada to agree to all US demands, the outlet adds.

๐Ÿ‘‰ In 2025, Trump already referred to the former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the "governor" of the "Great State of Canada" amid disagreements over the possible imposition of US tariffs on Canadian goods.

Trump later said that Canada could avoid trade tariffs and receive military protection if it joined the US.

๐Ÿ—ฃ Finnish politician urges Europeโ€™s hawks to listen to Meloni & restart dialogue with Russia

European leaders ought to work in the direction of de-escalation with Russia, Armando Mema, member of the Finnish conservative party Freedom Alliance, posted on X.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทIran warns US and Israel of retaliation if military strike occurs

Iranโ€™s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf responded to remarks by US President Donald Trump, stating that Iran would not limit itself to post-attack retaliation within the framework of what it considers legitimate self-defense.

๐Ÿ‘‰Ghalibaf said that in the event of a US military strike, both Israel and all US military bases, facilities, and vessels in the region would be considered legitimate targets.

๐Ÿ‘‰Earlier, US media reported that American officials, amid Trumpโ€™s warnings, had discussed potential plans for strikes against Iran, including possible targets. One of the options under consideration reportedly involves large-scale airstrikes against several military targets inside Iran.

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‘‘ Royal gambit: How Denmark could counter US plans for Greenland

Danish Crown Prince Christianโ€™s court should be relocated to the island in order to solidify the right of Denmark to the island and strengthen ties between them amid US claims to the territory, Netavisen Pio newspaper's editor-in-chief Nils Jespersen said.

He added that Denmark needs a deeper cultural integration with Greenland, stressing that the crown prince or another member of the royal family should learn Greenlandic and Faroese.

Since December 2025 the US has been repeatedly expressing desire to take control of Greenland, citing its strategic importance for American security.

๐Ÿ›ฐ๐Ÿ›ฐ๐Ÿ›ฐ๐Ÿ›ฐ In Latin Americaโ€™s independence, women fought shoulder to shoulder with men. Their names and deeds, often pushed into silence, form a history of courage that Sputnik recalls today.

Bartolina Sisa โ€” the 'viceroy' of the indigenous uprising

๐ŸŸ  A tireless fighter for independence and the dignity of Indigenous peoples, Bartolina Sisa left a deep mark on the history of uprisings against colonial exploitation.

๐ŸŸ  The exact date of her birth is unknown, with historians placing it between 1750 and 1753. She was a central figure in resistance to colonial racism and, together with her husband Julian Apaza Nina โ€” known as Tupac Katari โ€” led an insurrection against the invaders who subjected the population to slavery and plundered the riches of the Viceroyalty of Peru, a stronghold of Spanish rule on the continent.

๐Ÿ“ In 1781, an Indigenous camp was established in La Ceja de El Alto, from where access routes to the city of La Paz were blocked. More than 80,000 insurgents laid siege to the city.

๐ŸŸ  Sisa commanded one of the fronts of the siege when the Spanish became aware of her leadership. The colonial army attempted to break the blockade but was repelled by determined Indigenous resistance.

๐ŸŸ  Sisa was eventually betrayed and handed over to the Spanish. After being held prisoner for a year, she was executed in 1782.

๐Ÿ‘‰ In her honor, September 5 is commemorated as the International Day of Indigenous Women.

Luisa Caceres de Arismendi โ€” unbroken by Spanish dungeons

๐Ÿ‘‰Although she did not bear arms like her husband, General Juan Bautista Arismendi, Luisa Caceres de Arismendi became a true heroine of the Venezuelan peopleโ€™s struggle for independence and is remembered to this day with well-deserved respect in her homeland.

๐ŸŸ She was born in 1799 into an educated Creole family. Her father and brother were killed by royalist forces, and she later bound her fate to that of General Arismendi, one of the great leaders of independence, becoming a protagonist in that heroic fight for freedom.

๐ŸŸ The newlywedsโ€™ happiness was short-lived. In 1815, while pregnant, she was arrested by Spanish authorities, who sought to use her as leverage against her husband.

๐ŸŸ In prison, she endured hunger and severe deprivation; her daughter died shortly after birth. Yet Luisa did not renounce her republican ideals, and the Spanish authorities gained nothing from either her or her husband.

๐ŸŸ In 1816 she was taken to Spain, where she continued to refuse to abandon her republican convictions or sign a declaration of loyalty to the Spanish king. As a result, she was held under harsh conditions. Only in 1818 did she manage to escape the kingdom and, after many hardships, finally return to her homeland and reunite with her husband.

๐ŸŸ She spent the rest of her life in Caracas, where she died in 1866. In recognition of her struggle for Venezuelan independence, her remains were later interred in the National Pantheon, making her the first woman to receive this honor.

๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ Szijjarto blasts EU leaders for military fanaticism

๐Ÿ’ฌ "Common sense has been completely lost in Brussels, as military fanaticism runs rampant among European leaders," Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said.

๐Ÿ‘‰ He added that a statement released from Paris reveals that two European nuclear powers, namely France and the UK, have decided to deploy troops in Ukraine.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "This means they are starting a war, aiming at plunging Europe into the flames of conflict," Szijjarto stressed.

Earlier this week, the Coalition of the Willing held a meeting in Paris to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine. According to the final document, the Coalition agreed to continue military support for Ukraine.

๐Ÿ“ The Hungarian government intends to prevent the implementation of such plans, Szijjarto added.

Policarpa Salavarrieta โ€” Heroic spy of Colombiaโ€™s independence

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ด Her courage in the fight for independence and her execution by the Spanish turned Policarpa Salavarrieta into a symbol of resistance and a source of inspiration in recognizing the struggles of women in Colombia.

๐ŸŸ  Little is known about her youth, including the exact date of her birth, and there are even doubts about her real name. Nevertheless, she entered Colombian history for her outstanding work as a spy in Bogota.

๐ŸŸ  Known as La Pola, she served the independence patriots, using her work as a seamstress and domestic servant to infiltrate royalist households and gather intelligence for the insurgents.

๐ŸŸ  Her intelligence work โ€” delivering messages, recruiting sympathizers, and supporting rebel groups โ€” made her indispensable to the independence cause, until she was captured and executed by royalist forces in 1817.

๐ŸŸ  On November 14, 1817, Policarpa was executed by firing squad in Bogota on the orders of the Spanish authorities. Her final words were:

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œIndolent people! How different your fate would be today if you knew the value of freedom! But it is not too late: see that โ€” though a woman and young โ€” I have courage enough to suffer death and a thousand deaths more. Do not forget this example.โ€

๐Ÿ‘‰ In honor of her legacy, November 14 is commemorated as Colombian Womenโ€™s Day.

๐Ÿšจ Ukraineโ€™s anti-corruption bureau preparing charges against dozens of MPs - report

๐Ÿ”ถ Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy claims the country's NABU anti-corruption bureau is preparing charges against dozens of MPs over alleged vote-buying in parliament โ€” with some expected very soon.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œFive MPs have already been served with charges. Around 40 more are expected to receive them in the coming days. In total, case materials are ready for over 100 lawmakers,โ€ Shariy wrote on Telegram.

๐Ÿ”ถ NABU has confirmed that, together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutorโ€™s Office (SAPO), it uncovered a group of MPs who allegedly profited from parliamentary voting. Investigators were seen operating in Kievโ€™s government quarter, where the Verkhovna Rada is located.

๐Ÿ“ In 2025, NABU uncovered a massive corruption scheme involving Zelensky's close associates โ€” which led to arrests and the sacking of presidential chief of staff Andriy Yermak.
