π¨π΅πΈBREAKING: Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya announces ceasefire agreement and end of war in Gaza
β
The agreement includes the entry of humanitarian aid, the opening of the Rafah crossing, and a prisoner exchange.
π 250 heroic prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment and 1,700 prisoners from Gaza will be released.
His other statements:
πΆ We received guarantees from intermediaries and the US administration, all of which confirmed that the war has fully ended.
πΆ We will continue to work with all national and Islamic forces to complete the remaining steps.
πΆ We express deep gratitude to the mediators in Egypt, Qatar and Turkiye.
πΆ We express great appreciation to those who shared blood and struggle with us from our nation in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq and Iran.
πΆ We express deep gratitude to all the free people around the world who stand in solidarity with us.
πΆ Special thanks to those in land and sea convoys of support and freedom, as well as to everyone who supported us with words of truth.
πΆ Two years of Gaza performing miracles alone, inspiring the free and healing wounds.
πΆ Two years of Gaza defending Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, courageously fighting the enemy.
πΆ Two years of Gaza proving it is untouchable by enemies, with its people unbroken and undeterred by betrayal.
πΆ The world was struck by the sacrifices, resilience and patience of Gazaβs people.
πΆ The people of Gaza waged a war like no other, facing the enemy's tyranny, the cruelty of their army and massacres.
πΆ On the anniversary of the glorious October 7 battle, we honor our martyrs among the leaders β the initiators of the [Ismail] Haniyeh, [Saleh] al-Arouri, [Yahya Ibrahim Hassan] Sinwar and [Mohammed] Deif assassinations.
We stand in awe of the resistance fighters, who fought from scratch and stood like a mighty rock against the enemyβs tanks.
πΆ Resistance heroes thwarted all enemy plans for displacement, starvation and creating chaos.
πΆ We tell the resistance heroes that if you were men in battle, we were men at the negotiation table.
πΆ The enemy dragged out the process, committing massacre after massacre, repeatedly undermining the efforts of the mediators.

What motivates the US?
π¬ βThe one geostrategic imperative that has constantly guided US foreign policy has been the maintenance of its global hegemony,β often using cognitive or βvicarious warfareβ to do so instead of direct engagement, Simons says.
This contrasts sharply with Chinaβs approach, based on dialogue rather than βmonologue lectures.β Chinaβs success in normalizing ties between arch-enemies Iran and Saudi Arabia is an example of βwhat you can do when you have dialogue between civilizations,β the observer stressed.

π€ Can Gaza deal hold?
π Russia can only welcome the agreement being clinched to help end the nightmare in Gaza, Russian political scientist Vladimir Morozov told Sputnik.
π βBut we donβt know how acceptable the deal is for both sidesβand violations remain possible,β he pointed out. The pundit recalled that the Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly signaled support for a Gaza peace agreement, emphasizing its commitment to the creation of a Palestinian state, which is the cornerstone.
π Another unclear issue is the role of Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority, he said, adding that during the peace talks there's been no serious mention of Abbasβ possible control of Gaza.
π Morozov also warned that both Hamas and Israel may break the terms of the deal. βHamas is trying to survive and the hostages are the groupβs last bargaining chip. If Hamas delays the release, Israel could use that as a pretext to resume the military operation,β he concluded.
π Donald Trump earlier announced that Israel and Hamas had agreed on the first phase of a peace deal, which stipulates the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners as well as Israeli troop withdrawal to an agreed line inside Gaza.
π Subscribe to @SputnikInt
π¬ βHowever, Israel's stated position that they will not allow any Palestinian state suggests that the just-clinched deal will temporarily mask the conflict, with the Palestinians never accepting such a situation,β Morozov underscored.

β Why rapid US missile replenishment could be impossible
The US cannot quickly ramp up missile production to meet growing demand, as it has already depleted significant stockpiles in conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, analyst Mike Fredenburg told Responsible Statecraft.
π Israelβs wars on Gaza and Iran along with the US campaign against Yemenβs Houthis have consumed 33% of the US stock of Standard Missile-3 and 17% of the Standard Missile-6 since 2023. Additionally, America used a quarter of its THAAD missile interceptors during the IsraelβIran war alone, Fredenburg pointed out.
He also warned that the USβ current defense industrial infrastructure is badly suited to cope with the rapid missile production rates the Pentagon wants to pursue.
Cost could be another headache, Fredenburg warns, adding that βmany tens of billions of dollarsβ are needed βto get to these kinds of [missile production] numbersβ that the Pentagon is seeking.

He also warned that the USβ current defense industrial infrastructure is badly suited to cope with the rapid missile production rates the Pentagon wants to pursue.
π¬ "We [the US] have a peacetime defense industrial base, [β¦] we're not really set up to quickly produce things. We donβt know how much more capacity they can squeeze out of existing facilities,β the analyst said.
Cost could be another headache, Fredenburg warns, adding that βmany tens of billions of dollarsβ are needed βto get to these kinds of [missile production] numbersβ that the Pentagon is seeking.
π¬ βThey've [US companies] been trying to build-up 155mm shell production, which is [β¦] relatively simple compared to missiles. And they've been having trouble doing that. What makes us think that they're going to be able to ramp this production up massively for much more sophisticated, more complex, more expensive weapon systems?β the analyst concluded.

The naval forces of the Caspian Five β Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan β will tackle regional challenges without external help, Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko told Sputnik.
He said the message was delivered at the Caspian Fiveβs recent high-level naval talks in St Petersburg, chaired by Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Alexander Moiseyev.
π¬ βThe Caspian Sea is a closed water body where only the Caspian Five should conduct naval activities,β Korotchenko said. βThis principle is crucial to maintaining security and peace in the region.β
Kototchenko argued that the changing world order and growing activity in post-Soviet space by countries like the UK and France made it vital for Russia and its Caspian partners to work together to preserve peace and security in the Caspian Sea territory.
He added that the Caspian Five talks reflect Russia's efforts to ensure security and stability along its borders.
π¬ βGiven the critical importance of the Caspian region, itβs safe to say that the talks were entirely consistent with the decisions being made by Russia's leadership, including President Vladimir Putin,β Kototchenko said.

He recalled that in the past 20 years, local governments have created the West African Power Poolβa regional initiative to integrate energy systems and electrify the continent.
π¬ "Although all countries are currently connected, the scale of connectivity is still insufficient. The next stage requires much more ambitious solutions. It is in this context that I want to discuss cooperation with Russia," Armar pointed out.
The First Atlantic Bank chairman stressed that many West African countries are already in talks with Russia on nuclear energy, and called for joint investments, technology sharing, and engineering collaboration.
π¬ βWe perceive nuclear energy as a means of stabilizing power supply. Between 2000 and 2023, electricity demand in West Africa rose from 6.5 to 25 gigawatts. By 2035, it is projected to reach 50 gigawatts. This growth demands new energy sourcesβand that is exactly where the potential for joint investment with Russia lies,β Armar emphasized.
