๐Ÿ—ฃ CIA document revealing Biden's Ukraine corruption is just a decoy โ€“ Larry Johnson

๐Ÿ“ The agency's release of the Obama-era document is part of the White House's bigger game, former CIA officer and State Department official Larry Johnson says.

So whatโ€™s it really hiding?

๐Ÿ’ฌ "I call it the shiny object. It's like what a magician does. They try to distract your attention with one hand while they do something with the other hand," Johnson tells Sputnik.

The CIA veteran wonders whether the attempt to get people to focus on former president Joe Biden links to Kiev is aimed at distracting the public from plans to go to war with Venezuela or Iran, or sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.

"It could be any of those," the pundit notes.

US up to its neck in Ukrainian affairs

๐Ÿ”ถ While the file exposed nothing new about Ukrainian corruption or the Biden family's involvement in the nation's affairs, it could have been used as "one more justification for distancing US policies from Ukraine," Johnson argued

๐Ÿ”ถ But that has not happened โ€“ in fact US President Donald Trump is discussing sending Tomahawk missiles to the Kiev regime

Political stunt

๐Ÿ‘‰ Seventy-five percent of the CIA document is blacked out, so the public cannot know what it really says.

"I put this in the category of it's a political stunt," Johnson says.

CIA works hand-in-glove with the White House

๐Ÿ”ถ CIA Director John Ratcliffe's efforts to prove the Obama administration's interference in the agency's affairs looks unusual, according to the pundit.

๐Ÿ”Š For "seventy-eight years of history, the CIA has generally been the lapdog of the president, regardless of whether it's a Republican or Democrat," Johnson says. "So being responsive to White House requests is not unusual."

๐Ÿ’ฌ "The CIA has always wanted to be relevant at the White House."

๐Ÿšจ TRUMP SAYS MAY GO TO MIDDLE EAST โ€˜SOME TIME BEFORE END OF WEEKโ€™

๐Ÿ’ฌI was just dealing with people from the Middle East on the potential peace deal for the Middle East. 'Peace for the Middle East'. That's a beautiful phrase... I may go there sometime toward the end of the week, maybe on Sunday... Negotiations are going along well, dealing with Hamas and many of the countries... Nothing like that has happened before... If that's the case, we'll be leaving probably on Sunday, maybe Saturday, maybe a little later than Saturday evening, but that seems to be our schedule."

โ“Cop or diplomat? EU starts to question Kallasโ€™ capacity

The EU expects Kaja Kallas, the blocโ€™s foreign policy chief, โ€œto be more diplomatic,โ€ US media cited a European source as saying.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œShe is more cop than diplomat. Her day starts and ends with Russia,โ€ the source pointed out, referring to Kallasโ€™ anti-Russian stance.

Former Indian Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal earlier wrote on X that Kallas had been โ€œparachuted into a job she is not qualified for.โ€

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œShe is contributing to Europeโ€™s geopolitical drift by her anti-Russian paranoia,โ€ Sibal added

๐ŸŒ Africa turns toward Russia amid Westโ€™s efforts to preserve clout

๐Ÿ—ฃ Africa is currently an arena where the interests of major players clash, and this gives the continent the right to determine which states to cooperate with, Irina Abramova, director of the Institute for African Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences, told Sputnik.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œWhile African countries are unlikely to completely sever longstanding ties with Europe, they will simultaneously engage with Russia, China, India, and other nations,โ€ the expert pointed out.

๐Ÿ“ She noted that the Kremlin should carefully assess which areas of cooperation are mutually beneficial, and if those interests align, Russia will be well-positioned to support Africaโ€™s development while also advancing its own geopolitical objectives.

๐Ÿ”Š Abramova warned that former European colonial powers are likely to maintain their influence on Africa for the foreseeable futureโ€”particularly through elites trained and embedded during the colonial era, many of whom still hold leadership positions in government.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "In any case, Russia needs to work more in Africa, despite all the difficulties and problems. And we need to move forward relentlessly, in accordance with our capabilities, our needs, and taking into account the interests of African states," she concluded.

๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ’ถ EUโ€™s debt time bomb ticking

High budget deficits will persist across most Eurozone countries in the coming years, a new report by Russiaโ€™s Roscongress Foundation shows.

Shifting budget priorities since the pandemic have led to an increase in the public debt of European countries, and servicing it becomes increasingly expensive, according to a survey titled โ€œBudget Imbalances and the EU Debt Trap.โ€

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œBy 2026, the EUโ€™s average budget deficit is expected to rise to 3.4% of GDP, driven largely by increased defense spending. Even major economies like France may need IMF support due to mounting debt challenges. By the end of Q1 2025, Franceโ€™s debt burden reached $3.8 trillion, or 114.1% of GDP,โ€ the report points out.

๐Ÿ’ถ Apart from France, countries such as Italy, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, and Romania continue to breach the 3% budget deficit threshold outlined by the 1992 Maastricht Treaty.

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต North Korea's weapons showcase: Why the world is watching DPRK leader Kim Jong-un is preparing a major military parade for the 80th anniversary of the Workers' Party on October 10. From hypersonic missiles to advanced drones - what makes this displayโ€ฆ
๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ต North Korea may unveil new ICBMs and drones at key parade

North Koreaโ€™s new domestically made intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs), due to be displayed at the upcoming parade, may be fitted with advanced solid-fuel engines, Yevgeny Kim of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences told Sputnik.

๐Ÿ—ฃ Such engines could enable North Korea to deliver warheads to the continental US, Kim underscored.

He noted that the possible display of the new ICBMs at the parade can be seen as โ€œa warning to the US, which continues to deploy its strategic weapons on the Korean Peninsula.โ€

Apart from the ICBMs, North Korea may show off its newest domestic drones, successfully tested in September under the direct supervision of Kim Jong-un, according to Yevgeny Kim.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The parade coincides with the 80th anniversary of the Workersโ€™ Party of Korea, and is expected to be attended by high-ranking delegations from China, Laos, and Vietnam.

๐Ÿงฌ Nobel physics prize winners spark quantum tech boom

The work of the 2025 Nobel physics laureates gave a direct answer to a long-debated question on whether quantum laws could apply not just to atoms, but to entire electrical circuits made up of trillions of particles, Gleb Fyodorov of Russiaโ€™s Institute of Physics and Technology told Sputnik.

The experiment conducted by these scientists in 1985 finally provided a "yes" to the question, he said, recalling that similar experiments had been attempted earlier, for example, by IBM researchers in 1981.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œBut the key achievement of [John] Clarkeโ€™s groupโ€”and the main reason they received the Nobel [Prize]โ€”was the direct observation of discrete spectral lines at precisely predicted frequencies in a superconducting circuit. This circuit became the first recognized example of a superconducting artificial atom,โ€ Fyodorov concluded.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics to a trio of US-based scientistsโ€”John Clarke, Michel Devoret, and John Martiniโ€”for โ€œthe discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunnelling and energy quantization in an electric circuit.โ€
