๐Ÿ—ฃ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Lands lost by Ukraine 'are coveted by NATO, not Ukrainians': Russian MFA spox

Maria Zakharova took to Telegram to comment on Zelenskyโ€™s remarks about the territories Ukraine lost during Russiaโ€™s special military operation.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œZelensky has been declaring to the whole world - to Trump, to the UN, and in interviews - that he wonโ€™t consider any settlement that does not return all the territories lost by Ukraine."

The fact that he never mentions the people living in these territories no longer surprises anyoneโ€”he has always treated people as mere statistics.

๐Ÿ‘‰ But what is striking: who actually needs these โ€œterritoriesโ€ in Ukraine? If they were truly needed, hundreds of thousands of this countryโ€™s citizens would not be begging for benefits in Europe, but would be fighting on the frontlines or providing support on the home front.

The remnants of society left in Ukraine not only donโ€™t have any desire to think about these โ€œterritories,โ€ but they dream only of one thing: that the press-gangs who send them to fight for these so-called "territories" would drop dead.

๐Ÿ’ฌ These territories are not needed by those living in Ukraine, but by the British and other NATO members. They are the only ones who want them. And just like in 2022, they are doing everything to sabotage the peace process.โ€

๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ Which countries have recognized Palestine?

Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, San Marino and France officially recognized the State of Palestine at a conference held alongside the UN General Assembly in New York.

That followed similar recognition from Australia, the UK, Canada and Portugal on September 21. Palestinian statehood is now recognized by over 150 countries.

Russia maintains that a Middle East peace settlement can only be achieved through existing UN Security Council resolutions, with a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.

๐Ÿ“‘ The 1947 UN General Assembly resolution called for the creation of two statesโ€”Jewish and Arabโ€”on former British Mandate territory. But Israel occupied the whole of Palestine in a series of wars, including West Jerusalem which had been granted to the Palestinians.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ”ŠUS Secretary of War orders rare meeting of HUNDREDS of generals

Pete Hegseth has ordered hundreds of the US militaryโ€™s generals and admirals to gather on short notice at a Marine Corps base in Virginia next week, the Washington Post reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

๐Ÿ”The unusual directive was sent to virtually all of the militaryโ€™s top commanders worldwide โ€“ these are about 800 generals and admirals serving across the country and dozens of other countries, the report adds.

The meeting may be related to the preparation of a new defense strategy or further reduction in the senior command staff, the article says.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทRussia just redefined Iranโ€™s peaceful nuclear future: hereโ€™s how

Rosatom and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran have inked a new MoU on the construction of a whole series of small nuclear power plants. Hereโ€™s what it means.

โœ…Longstanding partnership

In 1995, 15+ years after a German firm pulled out of the Bushehr nuclear plant project following the Iranian Revolution, Rosatom subsidiary Atomstroyexport stepped in to finish the job, with the plantโ€™s VVER-1000 reactor coming online in 2013.

Russia plans to equip Bushehr with two additional VVER-1000s, with the ambitious expansion, currently set for completion in 2029-2031, promising to account for a whopping 8-10% of Iranโ€™s electricity generation capacity once finished.

Besides reactor tech, Russia has played a crucial role in helping to train Iranโ€™s cadre of nuclear scientists, facilitating exchanges, offering direct technical assistance at Bushehr, and proposing assistance in the handling of waste material.

๐Ÿ”Scope of cooperation

Under existing agreements, Russia can help Iran build up to 8 reactors in the gigawatt range (including the two at Bushehr), says Boris Martsinkevich, one of Russiaโ€™s top experts on energy in geopolitics.

โ˜ข๏ธSmall new plants, big impact

Martsinkevich says the reactors in the new MoU are likely to be RITM-200Ns โ€“ an upgrade to the RITM-200 design used in the LK60 (22200) series of Russian nuclear icebreakers.
They have a 55MW generation capacity (enough to power up to 38.4k homes).

The reactors are likely to be built in pairs in northern Iran, where mountainous terrain, harsh winters and lack of local hydrocarbon deposits have long meant insufficient domestic electricity capacity, the analyst says.

Appearing on the heels of new Western sanctions threats, the small plant MoU also signals โ€œa new stageโ€ of cooperation, and could spur collaboration in other areas, like natural gas, Martsinkevich says.
