โญ•๏ธA Republican candidate favored to win a seat in the Michigan House said he tells his daughters to โ€œjust lie back and enjoy itโ€ if raped, as he attempted to make an analogy about abandoning efforts to decertify the results of the 2020 election.

Robert Regan, who is running to represent Michiganโ€™s District 74 in the state legislature, made the comments during a Facebook live stream Sunday.

๐Ÿ”Ž Teachers in Minneapolis went on strike Tuesday morning, shuttering classrooms for about 30,000 public school students.

For weeks, the teachersโ€™ union and school district officials have been negotiating over salaries, hiring, and resources for studentsโ€™ mental health. The talks in Minneapolis failed to reach a resolution by their Monday evening deadline, with the district saying it could not afford to meet the teachersโ€™ demands.

Students in the Twin Cities have already faced pandemic-related disruptions this year. In January, students in Minneapolis learned remotely for two weeks because of staff shortages related to the coronavirus. In St. Paul, some schools also returned to virtual learning for days at a time.

๐ŸŽฏ The Democratic Partyโ€™s emerging priority: Save the governors

Ahead of the midterm elections, Democrats are expanding their scope far beyond congressional contests and on to governor races in battleground states, seeing them as essential for the partyโ€™s presidential prospects, if not Democratic governance itself.

Party leaders, deep-pocketed donors and leading super PACS were already planning to prioritize Novemberโ€™s gubernatorial contests, which have long been an afterthought on national election maps. But their focus has intensified this past year after Republicans attempted to undermine and overturn the last election and Democratic-led federal voting rights legislation went up in smoke.

A coordinated, and well-funded push from Democrats centered around these contests would amount to a role-reversal of sorts for a party whose major and grassroots donors are often criticized for sinking large sums into long-shot candidates for the House and Senate.

๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ˜ฎ Cracks in the anti-Maduro US consensus?

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced on Monday a โ€˜vigorous reactivationโ€™ of discussions with the countryโ€™s opposition.

In what was apparently a sign of success of the talks between Caracas and Washington, Maduro's announcement was followed by a release of US citizen Gustavo Cardenas, one of six Exxon executives detained in Venezuela on corruption and embezzlement charges charges, media reported.

๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•Papa Johnโ€™s founder John Schnatter is adamant that his famous pizza franchise never wouldโ€™ve found its footing in today's economic climate, he told Fox News Digital at CPAC 2022.

"Could I do Papa Johnโ€™s today in 2022? No way," he said. "No way."

Schnatter shared that heโ€™s "thankful" to have built his brand during Reaganomics in 1984 under a president like Ronald Reagan who bolstered support for small business and entrepreneurship.

Bidenโ€™s economy has seen inflation hit decades-high records with consumer prices surging 7.5% in January. Schnatter reiterated the scale at which government money-pumping is causing an inverse effect on the economy, as the devaluation of the dollar occurs behind the backs of the American people.

Well, things seem to be getting complicated between them...

๐Ÿ’ฅKelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have FINALLY settled their bitter divorce case, and Kelly's walking away with the lion's share of assets, although he's getting a pretty penny in support.

L.A. Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon has just signed off on the terms. Kelly will have primary custody of their 2 kids. Brandon, who lives in Montana, will have the kids one weekend a month ... at least for now.

Speaking of Montana, as we reported, Kelly will keep the Montana ranch, but Brandon is allowed to live there until June 1. He must, however, pay her rent -- $12,500 a month.

๐ŸšจDesmonies, Iowa authorities arrested six teenagers accused of shooting into a group that had gathered outside an Iowa high school, killing a 15-year-old boy and seriously wounding two teenage girls, police said Tuesday.

The suspects are each charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in the Monday afternoon shooting on the grounds of East High School, near Des Moinesโ€™ downtown, about a half-mile (0.8 kilometers) from the Capitol. Police said gunshots fired outside the school came from several shooters from multiple vehicles.

The district said in a news release that the school was immediately put into lockdown and students were kept inside while police investigated. They were dismissed around 3:30 p.m. after law enforcement gave an all clear.
