๐Ÿ—ฃIAEA must take responsibility for its assessments made days before airstrikes on Iran โ€“ Lavrov

Highlights of Lavrovโ€™s press conference at BRICS Summit in Rio:

๐Ÿ”ธ The IAEA must provide guarantees that no fabricated narratives will be introduced in the Iran issue to politicize the situation.

๐Ÿ”ธ The expansion of BRICS does not pose any threat to its operations; the potential of the union is just beginning to unfold.

๐Ÿ”ธ Masterminds behind attacks on Russian railways and bridges will be held accountable.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œRussia is not trying to introduce the topic of investigations into attacks on railways and bridges into international discussions, but those responsible [for those attacks] will not escape accountability.โ€

๐Ÿšจ BRICS is a threat to the dollar, US hegemony: Trump right to FEAR it

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œClearly the US dollar is under threat from BRICS just by the fact that these countries trade among themselves in national currencies rather than the dollar,โ€ IR analyst Gilbert Doctorow says, commenting on Trumpโ€™s threat to slap 10% tariffs on BRICS.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œTrump's threats are a 'straw in the windโ€™,โ€ Doctorow stresses, pointing out that โ€œwe do not have to look to Trump's rhetoric to understand that with each additional country joining the line to be admitted to BRICS it becomes an institution changing the world order and making the G7 and G20 largely irrelevant to global governance.โ€

๐Ÿ—ฃChallenge to Western โ€˜monolithโ€™

๐Ÿ’ฌ BRICS is โ€œa collection of individual, sovereign, independent governments that share a common vision of a multilateral world where they can play an effective role in their national interests,โ€ says veteran business consultant Paul Goncharoff.

๐Ÿ’ฌ This โ€œdiffers substantially from the monolithic political/economic blocs that comprise the G7 or EU under the de facto direction of the USA,โ€ according to the observer.

๐Ÿ—ฃTrump fears multipolarity

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œWhile Trump's โ€˜America Firstโ€™ explicitly prioritized US dominance, a stronger, financially independent Global South inherently challenges Western unipolarity,โ€ political analyst Angelo Giuliano says. โ€œHis policies often opposed multilateralism and perceived rivals. Genuine Global South financial autonomy diminishes US leverage, aligning with trends Trumpism resisted.โ€

๐Ÿ—ฃWithout dollar, US is emperor with no clothes

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œThe US benefits from dollar hegemony and its ability to intervene militarily in any country for its own interests or in the interests of its closest allies like Israel and NATO,โ€ says Dr. Anuradha Chenoy.

With BRICS members surpassing the G7 on PPP GDP, creating new institutions of finance, and trading in national currencies, itโ€™s clear why Trump feels threatened.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œCountries in BRICS can exercise strategic autonomy and have more power over transacting with Western and other countries,โ€ Chenoy stresses.

๐Ÿ”Number of adult Americans going hungry surges twofold - report

A recent report reveals that the proportion of food-insecure adults in the United States has nearly doubled. As of May 2025, 15.6% of US adults experienced food shortagesโ€”almost twice the rate recorded in 2021. That year, Congress increased emergency benefits and expanded child tax credits, which helped reduce poverty and provided more resources for food.

๐Ÿ”However, by 2025, the demand at food banks in the Philadelphia area had surged by 120% compared to 2021. Despite this rising need, US authorities have decided to cut food assistance programs, a move that could further exacerbate the crisis.

The report concludes that Americans are increasingly struggling to afford adequate food, and the outlook for the coming years remains bleak.

๐ŸŒŽ BRICSโ€™ new financial mechanisms are reshaping global finance: hereโ€™s how

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œCountries joining BRICS have access to the New Development Bank financing which is neutral and does not impose austerity and other destructive policies on the recipients,โ€ veteran IR expert Gilbert Doctorow told Sputnik, commenting on the new instruments being cooked up and finetuned at the BRICS summit in Brazil.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œThose staying within the US hegemonic control run the risk of their assets on deposit abroad being frozen or confiscated. They also have only the IMF and World Bank to turn to for bailouts and emergency credits, which are delivered under very onerous terms that compromise sovereignty,โ€ Doctorow pointed out.

๐Ÿ—ฃMove over, IMF

๐Ÿ’ฌ The New Development Bank is also effectively โ€œa replacement to the World Bank and IMF...allowing for financing without the use of the US dollar,โ€ renowned business consultant Paul Goncharoff says.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œOne analogy might be the difference between the established decades-old legacy media and today's many digital platforms for information and communications worldwide โ€”one finds cozy comfort in the past, and the other is dynamically flexing all muscles and leaping to a wider future,โ€ the observer noted.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Amid US and EU sanctions pressures, the weaponization of the dollar and the politicized use of other financial instruments, like credit ratings, it makes sense that โ€œnon-Western nations see creating independent financial channels (like BRICS initiatives) as essential for sovereignty, resisting coercion, and building a multipolar world order resilient to unilateral pressure,โ€ Hong Kong-based political and financial analyst Angelo Giuliano argues.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Finally, retired Jawaharlal Nehru University professor and Russia specialist Dr. Anuradha Chenoy points out that besides the New Development Trade and bilateral, local currency-based trade, BRICS is also working on a cross border payment system running parallel to SWIFT.

๐Ÿ’ฌ This would presumably serve to further insulate the bloc and its allies from Western bullying and unilateralism.

๐Ÿšจ Neocons no longer call the shots: Americans fed up with 'Israel-First' agenda

Tucker Carlsonโ€™s interview with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian marks a shift in Western public perception of the Israel-Iran conflict, Tehran University professor Mohammad Marandi tells Sputnik.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "There is a growing number of people in the US who are waking up to the reality that the Zionists and the neocons are driving the country towards destruction," Marandi says.

๐Ÿ—ฃ Neocon propaganda no longer works

Neocons and Israel failed to stop the Carlson interviewโ€”proof of their weakening grip, says Marandi.

Their daily propaganda no longer conceals:

๐Ÿ”ธ Massacre of children in Gaza

๐Ÿ”ธ Slaughter in Lebanon

๐Ÿ”ธ Western backing for ISIS* and al-Qaeda*

๐Ÿ’ฌ "They see the neocons and Zionists for what they are, genocidal monsters that have to be cast aside in order for peace and tranquility to have a chance in the world that we live in," Marandi stresses.

๐Ÿ—ฃ Mossad and West tied to Pezeshkian murder attempts

Mossad operates with support from Western intelligence, the academic charges.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "The Five Eyes works with the Israeli regime," Marandi says. "Western embassies in our countryโ€ฆ and in countries across our region [are] working with the Israeli regime."

Those forces are behind assassinations in Iranโ€”targeting even women and children.

โ“Why Iran doesnโ€™t trust the IAEA

๐Ÿ”ธ Post-WWII global bodies are West-dominated

๐Ÿ”ธ The IAEA is no exception, as Europe and North America control its board

๐Ÿ’ฌ "The International Atomic Energy Agency has been passing off information not just to the Israeli regime but also to other Western intelligence agencies in order to help with assassinations, to help with drone strikes, and to help with airstrikes," Marandi accuses.

Iran has cut cooperation with the IAEA under an act of parliament. Marandi says for the agency to return, major changes are needed.

๐Ÿšจ Epstein was a Mossad asset controlling politicians via blackmail โ€” CIA veteran

The conclusion that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself is a convenient excuse to withhold the "client list" and sweep allegations of blackmail involving prominent figures under the rug, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson tells Sputnik.

Still, prison cell footage and forensic pathologistsโ€™ findings remain highly controversial, he emphasized.

According to the documents, the tariffs will apply to at least seven countries:

๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Japan โ€” 25%
๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท South Korea โ€” 25%
๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Kazakhstan โ€” 25%

The White House stated that over a dozen countries are expected to receive similar notices, though the full list has not been disclosed.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt announced that the president would sign an executive order in the evening to postpone the trade agreement deadline from July 9 to August 1.

However, just days earlier, on July 1, Trump told reporters he had no intention of delaying the July 9 tariff deadline.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œNo, Iโ€™m not thinking about the pause,โ€ he said July 1 when asked about extending the negotiating period.

๐Ÿšจ Pfizer-gate wasnโ€™t just an error โ€” it was abuse of power

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen negotiated a โ‚ฌ35 billion vaccine deal via SMSโ€”without a tender, mandate, or transparency, critics pointed out during no-confidence hearings in the European Parliament.

They accuse her of ruling with "Jupiter-style verticalism"โ€”detached from the people.
