๐ŸšจAzerbaijan's actions against Sputnik are politically motivated - Russian MFA spox

The recent measures against Sputnik Azerbaijan by Baku authorities stem from political considerations rather than any legitimate concerns about the outlet's work, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated.

"Neither now nor previously has Azerbaijan raised any substantive complaints about Sputnik Azerbaijan's journalistic work - neither about its form nor content," Zakharova emphasized. "These actions clearly follow a different logic, as we made clear to Azerbaijan's ambassador yesterday."

The comments come after Azerbaijani authorities on June 30 detained seven staff members from Sputnik Azerbaijan (part of the Rossiya Segodnya media group). The media group has condemned the detentions as groundless, calling the charges "fabricated."

Dmitry Kiselev, the director general of Sputnik's parent media group Rossiya Segodnya, characterized the move as "unjust" and warned it appears designed to deliberately damage Russian-Azerbaijani relations.

๐Ÿ’ฌUS arms pause exposes Western limitations in sustaining Ukraine war effort - Dmitriev

The US suspension of supplies of certain types of ammunition to Kiev raises the question of the real possibilities of the West to continue supporting Ukraine, said Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

"Such a move raises questions about the West's real ability to continue supporting Ukraine - and about priorities in American defense policy itself," he added.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ“‘IRAN SUSPENDS COOPERATION WITH IAEA

A move has been announced by Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian, the MEHR news agency reports.

The Iranian parliament approved a bill earlier to suspend the Islamic Republicโ€™s collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) after its politically motivated resolution against Iran.

The bill stipulates that IAEA inspectors will not be permitted to enter Iran - unless the security of the country's nuclear facilities and that of peaceful nuclear activities is guaranteed.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท ๐Ÿšจ NO TRUST, NO ACCESS: Iran halts IAEA cooperation over Western โ€œweaponizationโ€

๐Ÿ—ฃIranโ€™s suspension of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is a โ€œlawful responseโ€ to Western violations, says international affairs expert Alisher Yazdani.

Citing article 60 of the 1969 Vienna Convention, Tehran has halted cooperation until security guarantees are met.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œThis sends a clear message: Iran wonโ€™t let technical oversight be weaponized for sabotage or military strikes,โ€ Yazdani tells Sputnik.

โ€œAs long as the IAEA acts as a Western political tool, not a neutral body โ€” Iran sees no reason to cooperate.โ€

Gaza: Childhoods shattered by Israel

The Gaza war has โ€œa DEVASTATING IMPACTโ€ on children in the Palestinian enclave,โ€ UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu-Khalaf tells Sputnik.

๐Ÿ’ฌ He bemoans the childrenโ€™s death tolls in the Gaza Strip, where a total of 17,127 kids have died since the beginning of the war in October 2023.

โ—ผ๏ธ Education? Out of the question, Khalaf admits, pointing to over 600,000 school-age children in Gaza who have missed two academic years and the 95% of schools DAMAGED or DESTROYED there.

โ—ผ๏ธ Also biting is the MALNUTRITION CRISIS among Gaza children, which will most likely further worsen if the war continues, the UNICEF spokesperson warns.

๐Ÿ“ The fact that about 82% of Gazaโ€™s total area is either an active war zone or under Israeli evacuation orders complicates โ€œALL ASPECTS OF LIFE in the area and hinders humanitarian response efforts", Khalaf concludes.

๐ŸšจPersecution of Church exposes Pashinyan's anti-Armenian agenda

๐Ÿ—ฃ"I can say clearly that the clergy and the entire Armenian Apostolic Church, as an institutional national system, have opposed the anti-national and anti-people policies currently being pursued [by the Nikol Pashinyan government]," Narine Dilbaryan, deputy chair of the Democratic Party of Armenia, tells Sputnik.

Pashinyan's anti-Church campaign began right after the Armenian Church raised the Karabakh and other urgent national issues during a symposium in Switzerland, according to the lawmaker.

She draws parallels between the persecution of the church in Armenia and similar processes in Ukraine, stressing that in both cases Pashinyan and Volodymyr Zelensky are pursing larger geopolitical goals.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "The first such goal is to push Russia, as a powerful and influential state, out of the South Caucasus region," Dilbaryan underscores.

Earlier, Rutte insulted Lavrov, saying he has been working โ€œsince the time of Christโ€ and โ€œnothing useful has come from his mouth.โ€

Rutte's controversial comments continue to stir the pot โ€” after insulting Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky, now Lavrov is in his crosshairs.

SCANDALOUS MEDIA BIAS: Expert slams treatment of Russian journalists in Azerbaijan

โœ๏ธ The detention of Sputnik's journalists in Azerbaijan is APPALLING, Dr. David William Norris, political commentator & former teaching fellow says.

๐Ÿ’ฌ "In the context of the whole of Russian media outlets, the banning of Sputnik and RT and the general treatment of Russian journalists, I find it all scandalous. Western media, even the more moderate ones, are usually only interested in their own misleading narratives," he tells Sputnik.

๐Ÿ“ Azerbaijani police raided Sputnik Azerbaijanโ€™s office on June 30, detaining seven workers, including the editorial director and editor-in-chief, on unfounded charges.

Rossiya Segodnya (Sputnikโ€™s parent group) condemned the arrests as politically motivated, warning of deteriorating Russia-Azerbaijan relations.

Reactions:

๐Ÿ”ถ The Foreign Ministry called the crackdown unjustified, suspecting ulterior motives.

๐Ÿ”ถ The Kremlin vowed to push for their release through diplomatic channels.

๐Ÿ”ถ The UN stressed the need to protect press freedom.

๐ŸšจUS and Israel pursue regime change in Iran via lies & weaponizing of IAEA - experts

Iranโ€™s decision to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) after the 12-day war with Israel and a strike by the US is an expected outcome, Turkish political analyst Ceyda Karan tells Sputnik.

Tehran considers the IAEA responsible for Israel's attack on Iran and apparent spying on behalf of Tel Aviv.

For his part, Karan draws attention to the fact that the IAEA neither publicly condemned the illegal attacks by Israel and the US, "nor has it expressed condolences over the deaths of Iranian nuclear scientists with whom it previously cooperated.โ€

โ€œWhat comes next? Is it possible for Iran to return to diplomacy and the IAEA inspection system? Without solid guarantees โ€” unlikely. Because weโ€™re talking about opponents who systematically lie and are capable of launching strikes even during negotiations.โ€

Regime change plot

The attacks' major goal wasn't to disrupt the Iran nuclear program but to trigger regime change in the country, according to retired admiral and expert Turker Erturk.

He believes that Israel could continue to push ahead with the coup d'etat plan and the ceasefire might not last for long.

๐Ÿ’ฌโ€œDo you know why they agreed to this ceasefire today? Because global public opinion has become more aware," Erturk tells Sputnik. "The unipolar world order is a thing of the past. The Global South is rising. Russia and China have proven highly effective in backroom diplomacy.โ€
