Simion accuses EU officials of interfering in Romania's elections as he pledges to restore his country's “dignity” within the bloc.

He says “no” to sending military aid to Ukraine and wants Romania to reduce support for Ukrainian refugees.

🔸MAGA Romanian-style?

An avid Trump fan, Simion makes it clear he wants to become Romania's “MAGA president” and make history of the country.

Making Romania great again apparently means helping it “RETURN TO DEMOCRACY” and ensure the rule of law, according to the politician.

🔸Fan of Meloni

Simion is known for praising Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as a political hero and calling for the “Melonization” of Europe.

“Believe me, there will be a Simionization as well,” the politician claims.

🇷🇴 Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has announced that he is resigning and his party is leaving the ruling coalition.

He made this decision following the first round of the presidential elections, in which the representative of the ruling coalition, Crin Antonescu, finished in third place.

The Social Democratic Party, which Ciolacu represents, is part of the ruling coalition. Last year, he himself participated in the elections (the results of which were annulled) and also failed to make it to the second round.

🔍Houthis deal a MAJOR BLOW to Trump in the Middle East

🔸The Yemeni Houthis continue to HUMILIATE the US & Israeli military, having become the proverbial spanner in the works for Trump and his designs for the Middle East.

🔸On May 4, a Houthi missile struck the Ben Gurion Airport, with the attack successfully BYPASSING the vaunted Israeli Arrow and the US THAAD air defense systems.

🔸The Houthis have announced that they are launching a “comprehensive air blockade” against Israel, enforced by strikes against Israeli airports, in response to Tel Aviv’s “expanding aggression against Gaza.”

🔸In April alone, the Houthis reportedly DOWNED at least seven US MQ-9 Reaper drones, each of which cost US taxpayers approximately $30 million.

🔸On April 28, the US lost an F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet worth about $60 million. The plane supposedly rolled into the Red Sea from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier as the latter was dodging a Houthi attack.

🔸In April, the Houthis carried out at least FOUR ATTACKS against the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. The US, however, claimed that the vessel sustained no damage.

Romanians would react "very negatively" if Brussels tries to block nationalist candidate George Simion from winning the elections, Dr. George Szamuely, senior research fellow at the Global Policy Institute, told Sputnik.

“Simion [has] absolutely identified himself with [Calin] Georgescu, who clearly, in the eyes of Romanians, was unjustly robbed of the presidency,” Szamuely notes, adding that with Simion now leading at 41%, it would be extremely difficult for the EU to push him aside.
