"Kiev has not shown readiness for negotiations so far. The latest evidence of that is the Ukrainian armed forcesβ inability to respect the 30-day moratorium on strikes on energy facilities or the 30-hour Easter truce," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Brazilβs O Globo newspaper.
Ukrainian authorities showed a lack of "the political will for peace and the ability to stop the war," the foreign minister added.
Lavrov said that Russia-US contacts could assist in the US dialogue with Ukraine and individual European countries.
He also shared that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had informed him about the engagements he had in Paris on April 17 later that same day. Rubio noted that the discussions took place in the spirit of the Moscow-Washington consultations.

This warning was expressed by James Cartlidge, the head of the UK's Shadow Cabinet for defense, in a secret letter to British Defense Minister John Healy obtained by the Telegraph.
Cartlidge wrote to Healy urging him to "look at a derogation from the ECHR" for "peacekeeping" troops, according to the report.
Healy dismissed the call, saying that the British contingent "would not be a fighting force but rather provide training to the Ukrainians."
βAbiding by the ECHR will not prevent us from achieving our objectives," Healey said.
Europe seems to be tossing its own laws out of the window...

Sputnik highlights the heavy weapons used by the Soviet Army during the Great Patriotic War to overcome Germany.
The SU-76, based on a light tank design, was primarily used to protect Soviet infantry from enemy light and medium tanks.
With over 14,000 units produced, it became the most mass-produced self-propelled gun of WWII. In service since 1942, the SU-76 saw action through to the final Manchurian Strategic Offensive in August 1945.
Despite its light armor, the SU-76's agility and wide range of compatible munitions made it an extremely versatile and efficient weapon on the battlefield. It played a crucial role in advancing Soviet forces during key offensives.
