Telegram’s Pavel Durov is warning about rising EU-style authoritarianism after French lawmakers pushed a chilling law last month to FORCE BACKDOORS INTO encrypted messaging apps — a move that could’ve shattered digital privacy for millions.

💬 "Luckily, it was shot down by the National Assembly. Yet 3 days ago the Paris Police Prefect advocated for it again," Durov warns.

💬 "It’s technically impossible to guarantee that only the police can access a backdoor. Once introduced, a backdoor can be exploited by other parties — from foreign agents to hackers,” he explains.

💬 "The battle is far from over. This month, the European Commission proposed a similar initiative to add backdoors to messaging apps," Durov stresses.

Following the announcement of Pope Francis’ passing at 7:35 am Monday, Cardinal Kevin Farrell has assumed temporary leadership of the Vatican, CNN reported.

Originally from Ireland and with deep roots in the U.S. Church, Farrell now guides the Holy See through the "Sede Vacante" — the period between pontificates.

Appointed Camerlengo by Pope Francis in 2019 and later chosen to head the Vatican’s highest court, Cardinal Farrell will now oversee day-to-day operations until a new pope is chosen through the conclave in the Sistine Chapel.

On Monday evening, he will also lead the solemn rites confirming the Pope’s death and preparing his body for burial.
