Hungary ‘opting out’ of GLOBALIST institutions – expert

By choosing to withdraw from International Criminal Court, Hungary shows its policy is “in line with the thinking of the Trump administration," Dr. George Szamuely, a senior research fellow at The Global Policy Institute, told Sputnik.

“It's obviously a major development because this is the first NATO and EU country that had signed on to the ICC, had signed onto the Rome Statute and is now withdrawing… Hungary breaking ranks is significant," he stressed.

Hungary's foreign minister is to submit a bill to parliament on Thursday to withdraw from the ICC Rome statute, PM Viktor Orban said.

"The reason [for Hungary's withdrawal from ICC] is that we are convinced that the court is turning into a political one. In other words, in recent years it is no longer an impartial court based on the rule of law, but a political court. And this is most clearly seen in his decision regarding Israel," Orban told a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
