๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท Iran promises a "heavy slap" to anyone who harms its people

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei warned the US that Iran would retaliate against actions that harm the Iranian people. Speaking on the first day of the Iranian New Year, Khamenei emphasized that Iran never initiates conflict, but will respond to aggression.

He also rejected the claim that Iran uses proxy forces in the region, stating that countries opposing Israelโ€™s aggression against Palestinians have their own positions and do not need Iran's support.

On March 17, US President Donald Trump suggested that Iran was behind recent attacks by the Houthi rebels in Yemen, hinting that US forces might retaliate beyond striking the rebels. Tehran condemned Trump's rhetoric, rejecting any involvement in the attacks.

From Lavrov to LOVErov: Social media canโ€™t get enough of Russiaโ€™s top diplomat

The Russian top diplomat receives high praise from social media influencers and bloggers for his professionalism, diplomatic finesse, charisma, and sharp wit.

๐Ÿ’ฌ"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said todayโ€™s efforts to boost US relations paid off, marking a successful first round... The adults are back in charge," echoed media influencer Ian Miles Cheong.

๐Ÿ’ฌRetired Colonel Douglas Macgregor highlighted Lavrov's steadfast commitment to Russiaโ€™s national interests: "Lavrov and Putin have made it very clear there will be no Korean-style outcome to [the Ukraine conflict]," he tweeted on January 19. "They want their country to be secure."

Earlier, Lavrov gave an interview to Tucker Carlson, which garnered 7.6 million views. "If only we had a Secretary of State like him," wrote impressed American users. Other comments included:

๐Ÿ’ฌ"Millions of people are about to realize Lavrov is intelligent, pragmatic, and that Russia is not so different from us," tweeted influencer Clandestine.

๐Ÿ’ฌ"A great, intense, and informative talk by Lavrov. A stark contrast to American politicians, who offer nothing but bombastic hot air," noted Carl Zha.

๐Ÿ’ฌ"Lavrov is a genius. By far the Nestor of diplomacy worldwide. Congrats on this critical interview," noted Panagiotis G. Pavlos, an X user from Norway.

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿช– Europeโ€™s military industry suffers from lack of raw material amid drive to arm Ukraine

Only โ€œa handfulโ€ of companies exist in Europe that make nitrocellulose, a vital ingredient for the propellant used in shells, Bloomberg laments.

The situation with explosives is no better, as the EU currently has only one โ€œmajor TNT factory serving local production,โ€ while the producers of โ€œalternative agentsโ€ used in plastic explosives are โ€œoverwhelmed.โ€

The fact that the worldโ€™s largest producer of cotton, from which nitrocellulose is made, is China also does not sit well with the EU.

And while Germanyโ€™s top arms manufacturer Rheinmetall seeks to increase its gunpowder output by over 50% by 2028, this โ€œwonโ€™t be enough,โ€ the media outlet claims.

News of this development come as Europe stubbornly struggles to prolong the Ukrainian conflict by funneling arms and munitions to Ukraineโ€™s military.

Last month, the EU sought to ship about 1.5 million artillery shells to Ukraine and when that scheme failed, set its sights on procuring โ‚ฌ5 billion (about $5.41 billion) worth of ammunition for Ukrainian troops.

๐Ÿ”Ž Blowing open Zelensky's lies: Ukrainie GUILTY for gas pumping station attack

โ–ช๏ธThe Ukrainian military deliberately destroyed Sudzha's gas metering station in the Kursk Region, Russiaโ€™s Investigative Committee reported.

โ–ช๏ธOn the night of March 21, the Ukrainian forces attacked the Sudzha gas metering station, triggering an explosion and an ensuing blaze.

โ–ช๏ธThe Druzhba pipeline branch, once a key route for Russian gas to Europe, passes through Sudzha. It supplied gas until December 31, 2024 after which Zelensky halted its operation on January 1, 2025.

โ–ช๏ธSeveral hours after the attack, even before Russia's official reaction, the Ukrainian General Staff falsely trotted out a bold faced lie, claiming: "The Russians blew up the station themselves."

โ–ช๏ธAfter Putin-Trump talks, Russia agreed to halt attacks on energy facilities, and Zelensky followed suit. However, the next day, Ukrainian troops targeted an oil pumping station in Russia's Krasnodar Region. The Sudzha attack marks the second violation.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Eight US Secretaries of State, one Lavrov: A legacy of diplomacy

Russiaโ€™s diplomacy chief, Sergey Lavrov has had to deal with eight US secretaries of state, impressing almost all of them:

๐Ÿ”ธLavrov and Colin Powell (2004-2005)

Lavrovโ€™s encounters with US foreign policy began with George W. Bush's trusted lieutenant, Colin Powell. Lavrov and Powell discussed global security, focusing on NATO's eastward expansion and the US invasion of Iraq, which Russia opposed.

๐Ÿ”ธLavrov and Condoleezza Rice (2005-2009)

Working with Condoleezza Rice, Lavrov continued to address Russia's concerns, frequently clashing with his counterpart over NATO expansion. Nevertheless, Rice respected Lavrov's negotiation skills, and Russia's top diplomat always conducted himself as a true gentleman.

๐Ÿ”ธLavrov and Hillary Clinton (2009-2013)

Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state was marked by an attempt to revive Russia-US relations, highlighted by the famous "reset button" episode. However, the US's involvement in ousting Muamar Gaddafi was a move that Russia strongly criticized.

๐Ÿ”ธLavrov and John Kerry (2013-2017)

Lavrov and Kerry often had prolonged talks and exchanged jokes. Despite tensions between Russia and the US, they frequently cooperated on Syria, with Kerry even calling Lavrov "my friend Sergey Lavrov."

๐Ÿ”ธLavrov and Rex Tillerson (2017-2018)

Lavrov worked with Tillerson when Russia-US relations were "at a low point," worsened by Tillerson's lack of foreign policy experience. Lavrov recalled Tillerson's desire to quickly resolve Middle East conflicts and his talk of a "deal of the century" for the region.

๐Ÿ”ธLavrov and Make Pompeo (2018-2021)

Lavrov and Pompeo often clashed over the Ukrainian issue; nevertheless, the US secretary of state valued Russia's diplomatic efforts in the Middle East and on the Korean Peninsula. "We should have a better relationship," he said in 2019.

๐Ÿ”ธLavrov and Antony Blinken (2021-2025)

Lavrov and Blinken rarely communicated directly. However, despite disagreements on various issues, Blinken attended Lavrov's speech at the G20, despite open opposition from the US.

๐Ÿ”ธLavrov and Marco Rubio (2025- )

Lavrov met with the newly appointed secretary of state this February in Saudi Arabia, where they discussed a possible settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. It remains to be seen how effective their partnership will be.
