💊 Nothing will stop Big Pharma’s Ozempic profits, even as BLINDNESS is added to long list of side effects

Evidence is piling up that that hugely popular prescription drugs promising to help patients slim down are leaving some of them blind.

The cause? Inflammation and the blockage of blood flows to the eyes caused by semaglutide and tirzepatide, the active ingredients in drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro.

The latest study, conducted by researchers from the University of Utah and published in the JAMA Ophthalmology peer-reviewed journal, investigated nine cases of patients experiencing vision complications after taking the prescription weight loss and diabetes drugs, with conditions including:

🔶 eye strokes and partial blindness

🔶 optic neuritis

🔶 eye bleeding

The UoT study is the latest one on Ozempic’s possible connection to blindness.

Last month, health. com reported on research at Odense University Hospital in Denmark linking Ozempic and Wegovy (another weight loss drug) to eye strokes.

💲 Unstoppable profit machine

Despite evidence of Ozempic-like drugs’ potential severe adverse impact, from hypoglycemia, and breathing problems to facial swelling, hives, and even cancer, Denmark-based Novo Nordisk has made money hand over fist selling the medications, with a trend recently starting in Hollywood of microdosing Ozempic as a narcotic.

Last year, a Bloomberg analysis calculated Novo Nordisk’s sales of Ozempic and Wegovy were on track to reaching $65 billion, over five times what the company claims to have spent developing the drugs.

Ozempic-style drugs’ popularity despite serious risks to health signals the grip Big Pharma has on US health policy, with lack of effective oversight, and a health model encouraging curative, rather than preventative medicine among the issues Trump HSS pick RFK Jr. has promised to work to address if he’s approved by the Senate.

🔽Europe scrambles to halt SOARING gas prices as reserves hit rock bottom

The European Commission is weighing temporarily capping EU gas prices, reported the Financial Times.

European natural gas prices have surged by 30% over the past month, driven by EU sanctions on affordable and dependable Russian imports. On Tuesday, natural gas futures on the Dutch Title Transfer Facility, the European benchmark, climbed to €59 per megawatt-hour. To make matters worse, storage levels are now at their lowest since 2022.

The EU is expected to tackle the issue of setting up a mechanism to cap prices next month, sources told the outlet.
