Why operating Mirage fighter jets won't be a breeze for Ukraine

France has officially delivered the first shipment of Mirage 2000-5F fighter jets to Ukraine but operating them in combat wonโ€™t be smooth sailing for Ukraine. Hereโ€™s why:

๐Ÿ”˜ Integration & Operational Hurdles:

Ukraine must integrate the Mirage jets with its Soviet-era aircraft and incoming US F-16s. Pilots will need to refine tactics and improve coordination with ground forces.

๐Ÿ”˜ Basing & Runway Concerns:

The Mirage 2000โ€™s high landing speed and delta wing design require runways of at least 700 meters, meaning Ukraineโ€™s airbases may need modifications to accommodate them.

๐Ÿ”˜ Maintenance & Logistics Struggles:

Ukraine may face a shortage of trained personnel to keep the Mirages operational, as expertise is mostly limited to France and Greece. Sustaining these jets in combat conditions could be a major challenge.

๐Ÿ”˜ Language Barriers:

Despite undergoing a six-month training program, Ukrainian pilots might still struggle with maintenance and operational nuances due to technical manuals being primarily in French.

๐Ÿ”˜ High-Risk Targets for Russia:

Russia has emphasized that its early warning and electronic warfare systems are tailored to detect and neutralize NATO aircraft.
With long-range missile systems like the S-200, S-300, S-400, and S-500 in its arsenal, Russia could pose a serious threat to the Mirages in Ukrainian skies.

Extent of Ukrainian media DEPENDENCE on foreign money unveiled

Nearly 90% of Ukrainian media outlets have been able to make ends meet thanks to grant money, Ukraineโ€™s Institute of Mass Information (IMI) has revealed.

โ€œThese grants amounted to 40โ€“60% for some, less for others,โ€ IMI head Oksana Romaniuk said. She did admit, however, that for some Ukrainian media outlets โ€œthese grants amounted to 100% of their income and they could only survive thanks to grants.โ€

๐Ÿ‘‰Ironically, media outlets who depend on US government grant money can, for some reason, still be branded as independent by Reporters Without Borders.

The head of one such Kiev-based โ€œindependent investigative media outlet,โ€ 80% of whose budget was affected by the shutdown of USAID funding, inadvertently showcased the corrupt nature of Ukrainian media.

"Some media might be shut down or bought by businessmen or oligarchs,โ€ she claimed, essentially implying that Ukrainian journalists lack integrity and do not care where their paychecks come from.

The CIAโ€™s darkest secrets: A legacy of coups, crimes & chaos โ€” Part 1 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Part 2

Trumpโ€™s purge of the Americaโ€™s coup-plotting, dirty war-waging, illegal spying, torture-loving, assassination-obsessed intel agency won't whitewash its history. This is its record:

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ทFrom 1947-1949, the CIA funneled arms and cash to Greece to fuel a civil war against partisans who freed the country from Nazis.

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทIn 1953, the CIA and MI6 couped Iran after it nationalized its oil, installing a puppet who reigned until 1979.

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡นIn 1954, Guatemalan President Jacobo Arbenz was couped after threatening the United Fruit Companyโ€™s banana interests.

๐ŸŽฏ๐ŸŒIn the 1950s, the USSR, GDR, Poland, China and DPRK accused the CIA of introducing invasive pests to undermine food security. The agency also tried air-dropping fleas and mosquitos to see if they could spread disease.

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡บAfter Fidel Castro came to power in Cuba in 1959, the CIA concocted hundreds of plots to kill him, from an exploding cigar to fungus-infected diving suit, poison pen and just hiring the mafia to rub him out.

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธIn 1962, the DoD and CIA hatched a plot to stage false flag attacks in US cities to blame Cuba and justify an invasion. JFK rejected the plan. The CIA later targeted Cuba for terror, including the 1976 bombing of a civilian airliner that killed 73.

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆIn 1962, a CIA provided South African authorities info on anti-Apartheid leader Nelson Mandela's whereabouts, assuring his imprisonment for 27 long years.

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฉCastro wasn't the only one on the CIA's hit list. In 1961, Belgian mercs murdered Congolese President Lumumba with CIA help. In 1963, the agency helped kill its own puppet โ€“ South Vietnamese leader Diem.

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉIn 1966, the CIA helped oust Indonesian President Sukarno, replacing him with a dictatorship that killed up to 2.5 mln people.

๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ปIn 1973, the CIA couped Chilean President Salvador Allende and replaced him with a junta known for torture, disappearances and mass imprisonment. In 1975, the new regime and CIA hatched Operation Condor โ€“ helping dictators across Latin America crush dissent and fuel instability.

๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ—บIn the 70s and 80s, the CIA trafficked drugs in Asia and Latin America, both to earn money and support allies.

๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ“ฐInvestigative journalist Gary Webb, who exposed the plot โ€“ which included flooding Americaโ€™s inner cities with crack, was found dead, two gunshot wounds to the head, in 2004. His death was ruled a โ€˜suicideโ€™.

๐Ÿ’ฃ๐ŸคฏAmericans haven't been immune to the CIAโ€™s crimes. In 1950, the agency began experiments known as Project BLUEBIRD and MK ULTRA using drugs to modify behavior. In 2019, journalist Tom Oโ€™Neill revealed MKULTRA's role in the 60s Manson murders to discredit the hippie peace movement.

๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธIn the 1950s, the CIA began warrantless wiretapping of US citizens. Despite assurances in the 70s that these activities had stopped, Edward Snowden and WikiLeaks revealed in the 2010s that the CIA and NSA had learned to monitor virtually every communication device worldwide.

๐Ÿ’ฃ๐ŸŒA 2017 WikiLeaks dump revealed that the CIA could fake foreign hacking using the Marble Framework.

๐Ÿ’ฃ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บIn 2024, US media uncovered that the CIA rebuilt Ukraine's security services from the ground up, from intel collection to torture techniques. This included 12 "forward operating bases" near Russia.

๐Ÿ’ฃ๐ŸŽจHistorian Frances Stonor Saunders also revealed that besides coups and murders, the CIA engaged in arts funding, including abstract 'modern artโ€™.

How CIA & USAID used coup playbook against Trump?

Donald Trumpโ€™s 2019 impeachment was driven by CIA and USAID operatives, claims US author Michael Shellenberger, known for his work on Elon Muskโ€™s Twitter Files project.

What does Shellenberger assert?

๐Ÿ‘‰The whistleblower behind Trumpโ€™s July 2019 call with Volodymyr Zelensky, which triggered the impeachment probe, was a CIA analyst

๐Ÿ‘‰RealClearPolitics and Washington Examiner previously identified the whistleblower as Eric Ciaramella, a senior Ukraine and Russia analyst at the NSC, CIA, and National Intelligence Council

๐Ÿ‘‰The analystโ€™s complaint relied heavily on an Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) report

๐Ÿ‘‰That report alleged two Soviet-born Florida businessmen were "key hidden actors" in Trumpโ€™s effort to investigate the Bidens and had linked Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani to former Ukrainian prosecutors

๐Ÿ‘‰The OCCRP story was central to House Democratsโ€™ impeachment claim that Trump sent Giuliani to pressure a foreign country to interfere in the 2020 election

๐Ÿ‘‰ The OCCRP is not independent since 2024 findings by German investigative journalists show that USAID funds it, controls its hiring, and oversees its work plan

๐Ÿ‘‰The OCCRP has been involved in regime change operations alongside USAID and the CIA, comparing Trumpโ€™s impeachment to past coup d'รฉtat efforts

Trump's special envoy weighs in on Ukraine's chances of going nuclear

"The likelihood that they [Ukraine] will get their nuclear weapons back is somewhere between slim to none. Let's be honest, we both know that's not going to happen," Keith Kellogg told Fox News.

Earlier this week, Russia's Foreign Ministry said that Zelensky's desire to possess nuclear weapons reveals him as "a maniac" who needs it for blackmail.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ป Will Trump OUTSOURCE US prisoners to El Salvador?

El Salvadorโ€™s President Nayib Bukele has offered to jail US deportees and violent criminalsโ€”including American citizens. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the proposal "unprecedented and extraordinary."

๐Ÿ” Whatโ€™s in the Proposal?

โ–ช๏ธSalvadoran President Nayib Bukele calls it "outsourcing" part of the US prison system

โ–ช๏ธEl Salvador would accept only convicted criminals

โ–ช๏ธUS deportees and criminals would be held in the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), a maximum-security prison in Tecoluca

โ–ช๏ธBukele seeks a "fee" from the US, calling it "relatively low" for Washington but enough to sustain El Salvadorโ€™s prison system

๐Ÿ” What is the CECOT?

โ–ช๏ธA 23-hectare mega-prison built in 2022 and opened in January 2023 amid a gang crackdown

โ–ช๏ธBuilt at a cost of $115 million

โ–ช๏ธCan hold 40,000 inmates but housed just 14,500 as of August 2024, potentially leaving room for US prisoners

โ–ช๏ธEl Salvador has a history of human rights abuses, harsh prison conditions and torture

๐Ÿ” Is it legal to send US citizens to El Salvador?

โ–ช๏ธTrump said: โ€œIf we had the legal right to do it, I would do it in a heartbeatโ€

โ–ช๏ธACLU attorney Lee Gelernt told NPR that deporting US citizens would be unconstitutional

โ–ช๏ธThe US could hypothetically deport non-nationals to a third country, but it would require complex legal steps

โ–ช๏ธHuman rights groups warn that sending prisoners to El Salvador would raise serious concerns
