Western media downbeat on new attempt to impeach Trump
๐ฌ Axios: The effort, which is nothing but Democratsโ attempt to revive the anti-Trump resistance, is "almost certain to fail."
๐ฌ Newsweek: With Republicans having a majority in the House, the attempt has "a slim chance of making it further than today's filing."
๐ฌ Guardian: Al Green is โa firebrand politicianโ who repeatedly tried to impeach Trump during his first term in office, and it is unlikely he will "find much traction on his latest effort."

Why operating Mirage fighter jets won't be a breeze for Ukraine
France has officially delivered the first shipment of Mirage 2000-5F fighter jets to Ukraine but operating them in combat wonโt be smooth sailing for Ukraine. Hereโs why:
๐ Integration & Operational Hurdles:
Ukraine must integrate the Mirage jets with its Soviet-era aircraft and incoming US F-16s. Pilots will need to refine tactics and improve coordination with ground forces.
๐ Basing & Runway Concerns:
The Mirage 2000โs high landing speed and delta wing design require runways of at least 700 meters, meaning Ukraineโs airbases may need modifications to accommodate them.
๐ Maintenance & Logistics Struggles:
Ukraine may face a shortage of trained personnel to keep the Mirages operational, as expertise is mostly limited to France and Greece. Sustaining these jets in combat conditions could be a major challenge.
๐ Language Barriers:
Despite undergoing a six-month training program, Ukrainian pilots might still struggle with maintenance and operational nuances due to technical manuals being primarily in French.
๐ High-Risk Targets for Russia:
Russia has emphasized that its early warning and electronic warfare systems are tailored to detect and neutralize NATO aircraft.
With long-range missile systems like the S-200, S-300, S-400, and S-500 in its arsenal, Russia could pose a serious threat to the Mirages in Ukrainian skies.

๐ Ironically, media outlets who depend on US government grant money can, for some reason, still be branded as independent by Reporters Without Borders.
The head of one such Kiev-based โindependent investigative media outlet,โ 80% of whose budget was affected by the shutdown of USAID funding, inadvertently showcased the corrupt nature of Ukrainian media.

Nearly 90% of Ukrainian media outlets have been able to make ends meet thanks to grant money, Ukraineโs Institute of Mass Information (IMI) has revealed.
โThese grants amounted to 40โ60% for some, less for others,โ IMI head Oksana Romaniuk said. She did admit, however, that for some Ukrainian media outlets โthese grants amounted to 100% of their income and they could only survive thanks to grants.โ

"Some media might be shut down or bought by businessmen or oligarchs,โ she claimed, essentially implying that Ukrainian journalists lack integrity and do not care where their paychecks come from.
