๐Ÿ’ฐ๐ŸฅผSpin doctor? House Oversight Committee seeks to interview Biden doctor over corruption claims

The Republican-led House Oversight Committee sought to question White House physician Dr. Kevin Oโ€™Connor, challenging his independence in light of financial ties to US President Joe Bidenโ€™s family.

โ€œAmericans question President Bidenโ€™s ability to lead the country, and the Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating circumstances surrounding your assessment in February of this year that โ€˜President Biden is a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old-male, who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency,โ€ writes committee chair James Comer.

Comerโ€™s letter includes an image of a check for $200,000 made out to Dr. Oโ€™Connor from the funds of the company Americore Health, with the payout to the physician made even as the rural healthcare provider was facing impending bankruptcy. The funds were provided through a transfer of up to $400,000 from the company to President Bidenโ€™s brother, James Biden.

Americore Health made the payment to James Biden โ€œbased upon representations that his last name, โ€˜Biden,โ€™ could โ€˜open doorsโ€™ and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections,โ€ the letter alleges.

"During his transcribed interview, James Biden confirmed Dr. Oโ€™Connor provided him counsel in connection with the alleged work he was performing for Americore," the statement read.

โ—๏ธA coalition of left-wing parties is leading the elections in France, with the right-wing National Rally coming third, French media reported, citing exit polls. Macron's coalition is in second place and could receive from 150 to 175 seats in parliament accordingโ€ฆ
French left-wing parties will not enter into coalition with Macron's bloc, Melenchon said

Jean-Luc Melenchon, founder of the left-wing La France Insoumise party, which is part of the New Popular Front coalition, said that he does not intend to unite with the coalition of French President Emmanuel Macron.

"We do not intend to participate in such negotiations," Melenchon said in an address to his supporters.

Earlier in the day, Melenchon called on Macron to admit defeat in the elections, dismiss incumbent Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and allow the left-wing coalition to form a new cabinet.

Melenchon has repeatedly criticized the policies of Macron and his government, including with regard to the situation in Ukraine. In particular, commenting on Macronโ€™s statements about increasing military aid to Kiev, Melenchon stated that a conflict with Russia could only lead to the complete destruction of France, noting that it is necessary to find ways to talk about peace.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban arrived in Russia's capital Moscow with a delegation on July 5 and held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He called the visit the next stage of a peace mission, with the previous stage being his trip to Kiev on July 2. Orban said he intended to hold several "equally unexpected" meetings next week.

โ—๏ธ Left-wing coalition wins parliamentary elections, receives 182 seats in French parliament โ€“ Interior Ministry

โž– Jean-Luc Melanchon's New Popular Front coalition of left-wing parties has won 182 seats in the French National Assembly, according to the French Interior Ministry.

โž– President Emmanuel Macron's bloc gained 168 seats.

โž– Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardelleโ€™s National Rally got 143 parliamentary seats.

In total, there are 577 seats in the lower house of parliament. Thus, no political force gained enough votes to form a majority government alone. No information has emerged about possible coalitions.

French and European media say the lack of a majority in parliament may plunge France into a prolonged political crisis due to an inability to form a new cabinet, calling the situation unmanageable.
