US cancels meeting with Israel in protest over Netanyahu's video — media

The White House was "fuming" over the video of the Israeli prime minister, who claimed the US was withholding military aid. As a result, they canceled a high-level meeting with Israel on Iran, Axios reports, citing American officials.

"This decision makes it clear that there are consequences for pulling such stunts," the news agency quotes a U.S. official as saying.

In response to Netanyahu's video, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the US "genuinely do not know what he is talking about" because only one arms shipment has been stopped since the Gaza war began, while billions of dollars in weapons have flowed freely.

"The Americans are fuming. Bibi's video made a lot of damage," Axios writes, citing a senior Israeli official.

US budget deficit will reach $1.9 trillion in 2024 due to aid to Ukraine

The country's total national debt will grow to $50.7 trillion by 2034, or 122% of the country's GDP, according to a report by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

The largest contributor to the cumulative increase was the inclusion of recently enacted legislation in CBO's baseline,
which increased projected deficits by $1.6 trillion. That legislation included emergency supplemental appropriations that provided $95 billion for aid to Ukraine, Israel, and countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

In January, the US national debt surpassed $34 trillion for the first time in history - an increase of nearly 10% over the year, or $2.7 trillion.
