๐Ÿ”ฅ From civilian to deadly sniper: Russian girl crushes Nazi forces akin to Soviet 'Lady Death'

Chernika witnessed the first days of the Russian special military operation as a civilian, stirring her enthusiasm to enlist.

"I've been interested in military service since my childhood. I went to military training classes at school." she told Sputnik. "When the opportunity arose, I decided to enlist. My friends recommended a wonderful military unit to me. I went to the interview, listened to the commanders, and I really liked everything. And so, after the interview, I joined my squad."

Chernika's decision to become a sniper was inspired by the story of Lyudmila Pavlichenko, known as "Lady Death", the most successful female sniper in history with a total of 309 confirmed kills. During the Second World War, Pavlichenko took part in the defense of Odessa and Sevastopol against Nazi forces.

The civilian-turned-sharpshooter has already earned her first "For Courage" medal, which was awarded to her by Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alekseev, first deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

When asked whether it's hard for a girl to serve in a military squad, she answered in earnest that it's equally hard for men and for women. And no, her commander never does her any favors.

"Our commander is very wise, because if they make some allowances for me, then later, when I go on a mission, it will do a disservice to me. No one at the frontline will be interested in whether I am a boy or a girl, or how old I am. Everyone should have the same confidence that my comrade-in-arms can rely on me, and I can rely on my comrade."

The largest Ukraine-controlled hydroelectric power station suffered enormous damage. What do we know so far?

The Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a massive strike on the Dnepr hydroelectric power plant, causing its shutdown.

โ–ช๏ธThe Dnepr hydropower plant has been put out of operation due to extensive damage, as reported by the Ukrainian prosecutor's office. The plant was struck eight times.

โ–ช๏ธA blaze erupted at the Dnepr plant and dam following the blasts.

โ–ช๏ธAccording to Russian military expert Evgeny Mikhailov, the strike on the hydroelectric power plant has resulted in a severe economic loss. "Many weapons manufacturers for the Ukrainian armed forces have been knocked out of action. And, of course, this is a major blow to the fighting ability of the Ukrainian army in general," he noted.

What else is known about the Dnepr hydroelectric power plant?

๐Ÿ”นThe Dnepr facility is the most powerful hydroelectric power station in Ukraine. Its capacity reaches 1,569 megawatts.

๐Ÿ”นLaunched in 1932, the hydroelectric station was considered the largest of its kind not only in the USSR but also in all of Europe until 1956.

๐Ÿ”นIt generates up to 4.008 billion kWh of energy per year.

๐Ÿ”นThe station provides more than 10% of Ukraine's daily electricity distribution on both the right and left banks of the Dnepr.

๐Ÿ”นZaporozhyeโ€™s industrial sector relies on the energy generated by the Dnepr hydropower plant.

๐Ÿ”นThe distance between the Dnepr facility and the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant is 70 km.

๐Ÿ”นHereโ€™s an interesting fact: Americans, including military engineer Hugh Cooper, took part in constructing the Dnepr hydropower station.

Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitriy Polyansky called the document "ordinary American deceit." In the diplomat's opinion, it would give the green light to Israel's military operation in Rafah.
