Sidorchuk said that he was taken to the draft office and immediately sent to the unit, where he was trained by NATO instructors in Estonia. After arriving at the front lines, the soldier experienced shortages of ammunition and food. NATO training standards proved useless.
"We had old rifles, guns that jammed all the time. We didn't have any heavy weapons, artillery, tanks. We had simple trenches, there was no place to hide. Our food and water was frozen, we had no way of heating it," the Ukrainian POW said.
Ukrainian officers were in no hurry to help their subordinates.
"They should just be punished for it - the attitude is bad, nobody values people's lives. Untrained soldiers were thrown into the fray with only assault rifles and grenades. No support. It's just irresponsible. We were just sent in as meat shields," he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has outlined "three prerequisites" for peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, he wrote that these conditions include the destruction of Hamas, the demilitarization of Gaza, and the de-radicalization of Palestinian society.
According to Netanyahu, once these conditions are met, Gaza could be rebuilt and the prospect of a broader peace in the Middle East would "become a reality".
The article comes after Netanyahu announced late last week that the Israeli army would intensify its fight against Hamas in the coming days and that Tel Aviv's military campaign in Gaza was "not close to being over".

Iran threatens Israeli response to assassination of IRGC advisor in Syria
Iran considers Israel's actions as a terrorist act, as a result of which Seyed Razi Mousavi, an advisor to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite units of the Iranian armed forces), was killed in Syria, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, said on the Telegram channel.
Earlier, Iran's state-run Tasnim news agency reported that the IRGC adviser was killed in an Israeli missile strike on the outskirts of Syria's Damascus. Iran's ambassador to Damascus, Hussein Akbar, said Israel fired three missiles at the house where the adviser lived.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog signs a missile that will be launched at Gaza
Since the presidentβs handwriting is not very good, it is difficult to make out what is exactly written, but the inscription is something like: βWe trust you.β
Previously, he was photographed with a soldier who had been a mercenary in Ukraine, which is illegal under Israeli law.

About 19,000 soldiers have left the Polish Armed Forces this year, which is significantly more than in previous years, Rzeczpospolita reports.
Among them are about 9,000 professional soldiers, 62% of whom had pension rights. The remaining 10,000 people are already former servicemen of the territorial defense. The publication emphasizes that the former head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, hid this data for a long time.
Next year, the trend seems to intensify: according to the Polish Ministry of Defense, in December almost 5,000 military personnel submitted applications for dismissal. They will retire at the beginning of 2024.
