❗️Key points of Russian MoD briefing on progress of special military operation in Ukraine over past week:

▪️The Russian Armed Forces repelled 45 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Krasny Liman direction; the enemy lost more than 1,020 servicemen.

▪️ The Russian Air Force and air defense systems have destroyed 31 Ukrainian planes and three helicopters since October 1, the MoD says.

▪️54 Ukrainian servicemen voluntarily surrendered.

▪️Nine attacks were repelled in the Donetsk direction; the losses of the UAF exceeded 2,055 servicemen.

▪️The Russian Armed Forces repelled 47 UAF counterattacks in the Kupyansk direction.

▪️Russian air defense systems destroyed 208 Ukrainian drones.

▪️The Russian Armed Forces repelled 19 UAF attacks in the Zaporozhye direction.

▪️The Russian Armed Forces eliminated up to 485 Ukrainian servicemen in the Kherson direction.

▪️Ukrainian losses in the Kupyansk direction amounted to more than 705 servicemen.

▪️The UAF lost more than 435 servicemen and 15 tanks in the Zaporozhye direction.

▪️The UAF lost more than 885 servicemen in the South Donetsk direction.

▪️Russian air defense systems intercepted one S-200, 19 HIMARS, four Uragan, two ATACMS, and two Neptune missiles, as well as eight JDAM munitions.

🗣️ Israel and Ukraine threaten to overwhelm US military

“They can pretend whatever they want. But the United States cannot do this, especially because industrially the United States lost a huge share of its industrial capacity, which before have been able to produce at least some kind of the war materiel, so to speak. Just to give you example, the United States cannot produce Abrams tanks anymore... The only tanks the United States can give Ukraine are those from the US army's stocks. And this actually repeats itself across the whole spectrum of American military industrial complex and production,” Andrei Martyanov, military analyst, told the New Rules podcast.

🇮🇱 Israel's ground operation may multiply the bloodshed and jeopardize the safety of hostages, some of whom have reportedly been killed during the IDF air raids, Egyptian journalist Mohammed Gomaa told Sputnik.

💬"When the ground invasion will start, I think even the hostages would be in the middle of this ground invasion. So they will not be safe. I think it will be hard to save them also. And this is the problem now. And also, we know that the administration here in the US is keen to return them safe instead of being killed. You know, maybe more than 15 hostages or more have been killed by the Israeli raids during the 20 days since October 7," Gomaa said.

Despite a number of Arab states signing normalization treaties with Israel, a growing trend for condemnation of Tel Aviv's brutality is gaining momentum in the Arab world, per the journalist. At least nine Arab nations on Thursday demanded that the UN Security Council impose an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.

The updated site now features the photo and biographical details of Colonel General Viktor Afzalov, the career air defense officer recently appointed Aerospace Forces chief by President Putin, in its ‘Leadership’ section. The prestigious post was previously held by General Sergei Surovikin, the Hero of Russia medal recipient who gained international recognition last year when he was tasked with commanding all Russian forces in Ukraine, and for his efforts building up the static defenses which helped foil the Ukrainian Army’s summer offensive.
