🇺🇸 Americans show record low approval for military while US boosts aid to Ukraine, Israel

A former US military commander told Sputnik that the more weapons the US sends to other nations, the more it hurts its own readiness and training. The crisis comes at a time that military morale and public perceptions of the armed forces are both at historic lows.

Recently, a former senior US Army officer was the latest to raise the alarm about the impact of US military aid for Ukraine on the readiness status of American armed forces. Retired Brig. Gen. Don Bolduc told US media the program had “overstretched” US abilities, limiting its ability to intervene in other places, such as Israel, where the yearslong conflict with Hamas was renewed earlier this month.

🇩🇪 During a pro-Palestinian rally in Berlin that was dispersed on Sunday, 24 police officers were injured, and 127 demonstrators were detained, police said.

About 500 cops broke up an uncoordinated pro-Palestinian demonstration of about a thousand people in downtown Berlin on Sunday evening.

Reports clarified that during the clashes, protesters threw bottles and fireworks towards the police.

Previously, large pro-Palestinian demonstrations were banned in Berlin. Deputy Head of the German Interior Ministry’s Press Relations Division Dr. Mehmet Ata cautioned that attempts to organize rallies in support of the Palestinian militant group Hamas would be suppressed, and those without German citizenship joining such demonstrations would face deportation.

Also, the IDF hit "military targets belonging to Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movement", as well as "a bank used by Hamas to fund its activities" in the Gaza Strip.

Iran does not support the expansion of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, but it is possible that the country enters the war as no party can remain indifferent with the ongoing situation, the minister explained.

He added that the resistance leaders were all of the opinion that they will give a chance to a political solution if any is reached, but “any action is possible”.

The suspect in the terror attack in Brussels has died, local media reported.

Earlier, Belgian authorities said the suspected attacker was treated in the ICU.

Two Swedish nationals were shot dead and another was injured during the Belgium-Sweden Euro 2024 qualifier football match in Brussels overnight.
An unknown person in an orange signal vest drove up to a building in the center of Brussels at around 19.00 on Monday and, shouting “Allahu Akbar”, began shooting at people dressed in the uniform of the Swedish national football team. In a video circulating on social media, the attacker chased people and shot at them, presumably with a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
