๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ต๐ธ Two-state solution or one-state agreement: what are the options on Palestineโs path to statehood?
Hamas-led militantsโ surprise offensive deep into Israeli-controlled territory around Gaza has again focused the worldโs attention on the 75-year perpetual conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. Amid the crisis, itโs worth reexamining the history of the Palestiniansโ quest for statehood, obstacles standing in the way, and options available.
Russia โhas always advocated for the implementation of decisions of the United Nations Security Council, meaning, first and foremost, the creation of an independent Palestinian state. This is at the root of all problems,โ Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an address at an energy forum in Moscow on Wednesday, touching on the escalating Israeli-Palestinian crisis.

๐ฎ๐ฑ A Jewish peace campaigner slams the media for amplifying pro-war propaganda
Fellowship of Reconciliation Executive Director Ariel Gold told Sputnik that reports and images of Israeli civilians killed by Hamas militants were a "gut punch" to her, as some of her relatives were victims of the German Holocaust of Jews and others during the Second World War. But she rejected comparisons between Hamas and the Nazis.
"I think those not only dehumanize Palestinians and distract from the current situation, which is very real on the ground, but also take away from that Jewish pain," Gold stressed.
She also cautioned that Israel's vow to invade Gaza and destroy Hamas would only take more innocent lives on both sides.

๐บ๐ธUS House Drama Rages as Scalise Withdraws From Speakership Race
The US House of Representatives appears further away from electing a new speaker after Rep. Steve Scalise announced late Thursday he would be withdrawing from the race, just one day after being officially nominated by his party.
"I was very clear we have to have everybody put their agendas on the side and focus on what this country needs," Scalise told reporters. "But there's some folks that really need to look in the mirror over the next couple of days and decide are we going to get it back on track, or they're going to try to pursue their own agenda."
Scalise has indicated he will continue to act in his role as House majority leader, but that he has no plans to endorse another candidate for the speakership.

๐ซ๐ท France is actively assisting the United States and the United Kingdom in destabilizing the situation in key regions of the world, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin said.
๐ฌ"The main stake of Washington and London is the purposeful destabilization of the situation in key areas and the creation of operational-tactical coalitions controlled by the Anglo-Saxons around them. ๐บ๐ธ๐ธ๐ท๐บ US officials have intensified their efforts to convince Western governments to use frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia to support Ukraine, an American newspaper reported, citing sources.
The idea has gained more popularity in recent times amid new obstacles faced by the US and the EU governments in attempts to send money of their taxpayers to Ukraine, the newspaper said.
However, there are still certain financial and legal challenges preventing the Western authorities from confiscating Russia's resources. In particular, the United States and the European Union are concerned over the possible loss of trust from other governments keeping their money in Western banks, the news agency stated.

๐ต๐ธ๐ฎ๐ฑ Israel used white phosphorus in Lebanon, Gaza strikes, Human Rights Watch says
The NGO specified it "reviewed two videos from October 10 from two locations near the Israel-Lebanon border," and also analyzed a video taken in Gaza Cityโs port on October 11 and "identified that the munitions used in the strike were airburst 155mm white phosphorus artillery projectiles," adding that "white smoke and a garlic smell are characteristics of white phosphorus."
Human Rights Watch also said it interviewed by phone two eyewitnesses from the al-Mina area in Gaza City who said they observed the strikes "consistent with the use of white phosphorus." The individuals described the explosions in the sky as being followed by "white lines going earthward," detailing the smell after the strikes was "stifling."
