π€ Supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia is tough and painful, UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said
The UK's government position concerning the matter is resolute, he said, adding that fatigue from the conflict exists and that it is a "big thing."

π³οΈ A growing number of Ukrainian soldiers are choosing to surrender by raising a white flag
βͺοΈ Recently, there has been a significant increase in the number of Ukrainian troops who use a dedicated radio frequency to communicate their willingness to disarm. The frequency was set up by Russian forces in mid-summer.
βͺοΈ The process of Ukrainians laying down their arms has accelerated recently, as Ukrainian troops have started surrendering in groups rather than individually, especially around the village of Rabotino, one of the main flashpoints of the Ukraine conflict.
βͺοΈ On the Zaporozhye frontline, Ukrainian soldiers are being encouraged to surrender with the help of leaflets in the form of hryvnias, which are being dropped on their positions.
βͺοΈ The leaflets contain information on how Ukrainian troops can contact the Russian military to discuss the time and place of surrender.

π£οΈ India Cannot Afford to Trust the US
βIndia is a problem for the US, but right now they need India against China. So they have a kind of a balancing strategy. On the one hand, they will support India when it comes to their interests against China, but they will also oppose India in a variety of ways. They will create problems for Indiaβ¦ They want to keep India destabilized and off-balance so that India doesn't rise too much and India doesn't really achieve its full potential,β Abhijit Chavda, Indian geopolitical analyst, told Sputnik.

Scott Ritter: Abrams tanks will become βmobile steel coffinsβ for Ukrainian crews
Around 500 Ukrainian soldiers have undergone an intensive ten-week course on the operation and maintenance of the M1A1 at the US Armyβs GrafenwΓΆhr training facility in West Germany.
Nevertheless, the Ukrainian soldiers trained by the US Army will possess only the most basic skill levels associated with the M1A1 Abrams. They will lack any tactical or operational skill when it comes to the employment of the tank in combat.
Read Scott Ritter's latest article to learn how Ukraine's unrealistic expectations of operating Abrams tanks will soon collide with harsh reality.

πΊπΈ White House launches countdown to possible government shutdown
"14 hours until Extreme House Republicans shut down the government. It's time for them to abide by the bipartisan budget deal two-thirds of them voted for a few months ago and keep the government open," the White House said on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.
The US Congress is working to fund the federal government before the end of the week to avoid a shutdown. The House of Representatives' proposal funds the government through October 31. Both the Senate and the House of Representatives have proposed short-term government funding bills designed to buy time to continue negotiations on a full-fledged budget, but the parties' views on what a government budget should include vary greatly, which makes the adoption of each of the bills unlikely.
If funding legislation is not passed before October 1, federal agencies will be forced to stop all non-essential work and not send out paychecks until the shutdown ends.

Why Ukrainian F-16 trainees won't turn the tide of conflict
The US Department of Defense has officially announced the beginning of English language courses for Ukrainian pilots as part of the program to train them to fly US-made F-16 fighter jets. The language training is said to be taking place at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
How soon could they appear on the battlefield and will their training be sufficient?

πΊπΈ Biden wrote on social network X (formerly Twitter) that he considers it βunacceptableβ that political parties in Congress cannot overcome differences, which is why the country is literally on the verge of a shutdown. But it seems that his words only angered Americans more.
The statement by the head of state was met with a mixed reaction among other users. Some of them supported Biden, openly accusing Congress of creating a threat to the work of the authorities βbecause of petty political squabbles.β At the same time, many noted with gratitude that among the legislators βthere are still those who put the interests of the United States first and not last.β
βNo one is more divisive than you,β wrote one commentator of Biden.
