Exclusive: Ukraine-Bound Arms 'End Up on Our Continent' & in Terrorists' Hands, Burkinabe President Says

Western weapons shipped to Ukraine do not all end up on the Eastern Front. Some of that ammo ends up in Africa, where they are bought up by terrorists, as the President of the Transition, Ibrahim Traore, told Sputnik Africa.

These parallel circuits, fed by arms traffickers, further worsen the security dilemma in Africa, the head of state pointed out, and in particular, it aggravates the detrimental situation for Burkina Faso, which is waging its own war against terrorism.

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท France says EU can survive influx of budget Chinese EVs as Russia sanctions take toll

โ€œI think with our new legislative decisions, we pave the way in Europe for a less naรฏve approach, taking into account the level of emissions of the industry,โ€ French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said, speaking to European business media, pointing to โ€œgreenโ€ subsidies announced in May for manufacturers who bake lower emissions levels into their production process.

The subsidies, expected to be worth between five and seven thousand euros per new vehicle sold, wonโ€™t be available for cars built using polluting plants, and are thus expected to limit the attractiveness of Chinese-made EVs. Le Maire said that Paris is โ€œdetermined to support the European car industry and the French car industry.โ€

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‰ Russian scientists succeed in growing watermelons in Antarctica

Polar explorers of Russiaโ€™s Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute managed to grow eight "ripe and sweet" watermelons in 103 days using the soilless technology of panoponics. The institute also announced plans to work out technology for growing blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries in the Antarctic.

One of the goals of the experiment is to test plant growing technologies for a base on the Moon. The institute's director said that the greenhouse also has a positive effect on the mental health of polar explorers, who spend many months in a confined space and extremely low temperatures.
