S.Korean Ruling Party Head Calls For Development of National Nuclear Arms
Seoul should consider acquiring its own nuclear capabilities to successfully deter a threat posed by Pyongyang, if the current measures are not sufficient enough to effectively respond to it, Chung Jin-suk, the leader of the South Korean ruling People Power Party (PPP), said on Monday.
"We need to seriously consider developing our own nuclear capabilities if such a response [to North Korea's nuclear threats using Seoul's existent deterrence system] is insufficient," Chung said at a party meeting.

Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Denies Reports of Enriching Uranium to 84% Purity
Reports in Western media claiming that Tehran has enriched uranium to 84% distort the reality as the country has never gone beyond the enrichment level of 60%, Behrouz Kamalvandi, the spokesman of the the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said on Monday.
"What matters is the final product and the Islamic Republic of Iran has never embarked on [uranium] enrichment at a level above 60 percent," Kamalvandi said, adding that the report published by a US media outlet was aimed at "distorting the realities."

⚡️ A fresh 6.3-magnitude earthquake rocked the border between Turkiye and Syria on Monday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The quake was recorded nine kilometers from the Turkish city of Antakya in Hatay province and 75 kilometers from Syria's Latakia.
