North Korea’s recent barrage of missile launches were the simulated use of its tactical battlefield nuclear weapons to “hit and wipe out” potential South Korean and US targets, state media reported Monday, as its leader Kim Jong Un signaled he would conduct more provocative tests.
KCNA said the missile tests were in response to recent naval drills between US and South Korean forces, which involved the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan for the first time in five years.
Viewing the drills as a military threat, North Korea decided to stage “the simulation of an actual war” to check and improve its war deterrence and send a warning to its enemies, KCNA said.

Now a tropical depression, former Hurricane Julia drenched Guatemala and El Salvador with torrential rains Monday after it reemerged in the Pacific following a pounding of Nicaragua. Thirteen people were reported dead as a direct or indirect result of the storm.
Julia hit Nicaragua’s central Caribbean coast early Sunday as a hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 85 mph (140 kph) and survived the passage over the country’s mountainous terrain, entering the Pacific late in the day as a tropical storm. By Monday, Julia had moved inland over Guatemala and its winds were down to 35 mph (60 kph).
In Nicaragua, Vice President Rosario Murillo told TN8 television that 9,500 people had been evacuated to shelters. Heavy rains and evacuations were also reported in Panama, Honduras and Costa Rica, where some highways were closed due to the downpours.

Ebrard said about 60% of the weapons seized in Mexico in recent years were believed to have been sold in 10 US counties. .
Mexico was seeking at least $10 billion in compensation, but legal experts had viewed the lawsuit as a long shot. The government estimates 70% of the weapons trafficked into Mexico come from the US, according to the Foreign Affairs Ministry. It said that in 2019 alone, at least 17,000 homicides in Mexico were linked to trafficked weapons.

Despite a pledge to wean itself off Russian energy, the European Union remained the largest importer of Russian fossil fuels in September, according to a report from the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air, or CREA.
From the start of the Ukraine conflict until late September, the EU spent more than 100 billion euros, or $97 billion, on Russian fossil fuel imports, the report found.
China is the second-biggest buyer of Russian oil, behind the EU. The emerging markets of India, Turkey, and Malaysia have been snapping up Russian fuel, with imports rising significantly.

"If you’re transgender or non-binary, you may find that your puberty experiences don’t line up with your gender identity or how you see yourself," the narrator says. The video then recommends puberty blockers to delay the onset of puberty.
