State news agency IRNA reports that Mohammad Mokhber, the Head of the Judiciary, and one of the Guardian Council jurists will now head the council that assumes all leadership duties until the Assembly of Experts appoints a new Supreme Leader.

The council consists of: the President, the Head of the Judiciary, and one jurist from the Guardian Council (selected by the Expediency Council).
