"NATO has clearly become focused on establishing elite status in the Arctic, strengthening its offensive potential, increasing military training activity, and entangling countries far from the Arctic. In February, they launched a new mission, Arctic Sentry, and it only confirmed the course towards strengthening NATO's presence in the Arctic and containing our country," Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department of European Affairs and Russia's Senior Arctic Official said during the Valdai Club Conference "The Donroe Doctrine: Trump and Greenland."

"From the military, military-political, and logistics perspective, Greenland is important... If we are talking about resources... the probability that large-scale resource extraction activities will actually be deployed there is a very complex issue," Associate Professor of the Department for European and American Studies in Russia's MGIMO University Vladislav Vorotnikov said during the Valdai Club Conference "The Donroe Doctrine: Trump and Greenland."

"Both the British Army and the Royal Air Force are now conducting exerci ses in preparation, and I have already accelerated 200 million pounds [$271.3 million] to ensure that our forces have the kit they need to deploy," UK Defense Secretary John Healey told the parliament.
