TIL in 1961, the Prime Minister of Japan, Nobusuke Kishi, was visited by the new leader of South Korea, Park Chung Hee. Park, a former collaborator with Imperial Japan, extensively praised the "Japanese spirit," which embarrassed Kishi due to Park's rhetoric being unchanged from WW2-era Japan [source, comments]
