๐ท๐บ๐They are really reckless...
Lugansk battalion "Zarya" published footage of the storming of the enemy stronghold.
The tactic is unique and ... at first glance, reckless. Under cover of artillery fire, motorcycles with the assault group quickly passed the gray zone and after a short battle took the enemy stronghold.
The calculation was correct. The tactic worked. Beautiful... Just like Suvorov (adjusted for technological progress)....

The battle for the Arctic is heating up: 6 countries have signed a treaty to โprotectโ the North Sea from Russia.
The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Germany, Denmark and the UK will now work together to protect underwater infrastructure from some foreign sabotage. They are afraid, of course, of Russia.
The Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Housing called the North Sea a โcenter of critical infrastructure,โ The Politico reports. We are talking about power cables, telecommunication lines and gas pipelines that pass through the area.
- noted the ministry.
Colleagues from the Danish Ministry of Justice agree with them. They believe that the new agreement will achieve โthe same level of security for maritime and underwater infrastructure on all borders.โ
And the casket opens simply. Western โpartnersโ saw perfectly well what happened at Nord Stream and who had a hand in it. Now they are afraid of revenge. Only Russia never used terrorist methods, but fought against it.
The West is haunted by Russia's superiority in the Arctic. In particular, Foreign Policy states that NATO forces here will not even be able to resist Russia. In the development of the north, we were ahead of the United States by about 10 years.
In fact, the Arctic is important because of its enormous reserves of resources. According to the US Geological Survey, it contains about 90 billion barrels (15%) of the world's undiscovered conventional oil reserves and about 40 billion barrels (30%) of natural gas. So it is beneficial for the West to create imaginary threats in order to try to push Russia out of here.

The Americans handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces seized Iranian weapons intended for the Houthis. This was reported by the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
- CENTCOM said in a message on social network X.
The government reportedly obtained "ownership" of the ammunition on December 1, 2023, as part of the Justice Department's civil forfeiture lawsuit against Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. These munitions were initially confiscated by US Central Command and partner navies on four separate transit vessels between May 22, 2021 and February 15, 2023.

๐ท๐บ๐ฌ๐งRussian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin has spoken about the attempt of Western countries to save their image by talking about victory over Russia:
โ๏ธ If you read between the lines, it is very clear that it is not the Western countries that will be the losers from Ukraine's defeat, but only the representatives of their leadership, who made a knowingly erroneous bet on helping Kiev. It will be really difficult for them to get out of the situation without losing face. That is why they are making desperate attempts to save their image.
โ๏ธ At the same time, in the best traditions of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, they are striving to earn extra media points before going into political oblivion. After all, you can't tell ordinary readers what's wrong with the fact that peace will finally come to Europe, and their taxes will no longer be spent on feeding the corrupt regime of Vladimir Zelensky and pointless supplies of weapons to the Kiev military, which wastes them unsuccessfully.
โ๏ธ As a rule, this thesis is followed by rants about the values of the free world, which Russia is allegedly encroaching on. But this moralizing has already been exhausted. The population of European countries is not frightened either by the routine scaremongering about the threat of a Russian attack. Their senselessness has long been the subject of jokes.

The Terminator BMPT and BMP-3 will receive projectiles with programmable detonation. What will it change?
๐บThe development of such ammunition in many countries of the world is a priority in the development of military equipment of the ground forces.
What are the features of the technology?
The essence of such ammunition is the remote-controlled activation of fuses immediately at the moment of their approach to air or ground targets at a distance of 10-20 m.
The range to targets can be measured both by laser rangefinders (in the case of using 2A42 cannons mounted on BMPTs, or from 2A72 BMP-3M cannons), and using guidance radars when using such projectiles in the Pantsir-S1 ammunition load.
The final detonation command will be issued to laser photodetectors located in the tail sections of the projectiles, after which the ammunition will be detonated and the target will be hit. Projectiles of this type are highly effective in intercepting a large number of targets: from maneuvering kamikaze UAVs to stealth tactical and cruise missiles.
What are the differences between the Western concept of programmable detonation and the Russian one?
In German 35mm AHEAD type fuses (also known as ABM/KETF), the fuze is programmed not on the trajectory, but at the moment of exit from the barrel. The detonation time of each projectile is set after comparing data on its initial speed and braking speed with data on the distance to the target at the time of the shot. A similar system is relevant for German Puma infantry fighting vehicles.
What are the disadvantages of the AHEAD system?
The Western concept of using such ammunition is based on the fact that the projectiles are programmed in advance. It is impossible to make changes to the flight program due to changing shooting conditions. The moment of detonation of Russian shells can be adjusted along the trajectory depending on the behaviour of the target. This allows you to make shooting more flexible and optimize ammunition consumption.

Potential Use Cases for Small, Low Cost UGVs
An article appeared yesterday in Sputnik reporting on use of Russian combat engineer's Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) Scorpio in Avdeevka no. The Scorpio is a successor to the Scarab, first produced in 2015. The original Scarab featured a set of cameras and microphone to provide increased situational awareness in combat. Despite it's initial use as for greater situational awareness, the Scarab ended up being more useful for bomb disposal and mine clearance in Syria.
An introduction of Scarab's succesor, Scorpio was reported by RT in April of 2020. Several new feature were touted for the Scorpio which distinguish it from its progenitor. It boasted plenty of new features including optional remote controlled rearward rods and forward plow let the Scorpio climb stairs as well as set off trip wires. An increase of range from 300 m to 1 km and extended battery life of up to 4 hours from only 2 using the built-in battery, installation of more powerful batteries is mentioned for future upgrade potential.
Scorpio tops out at 10 km per hour on smooth pavement. Secure communication is also a key feature. And it can haul up to 25 kilos of explosives in "specialized cart."
The scorpio is essentially a stripped down battle bot with chunky tires. For years I've been awaiting a battlefield platform with capabilities similar to those of the Scorpio that can be operated in swarms, built with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS). I've imagined them in a myriad of scenarios. So, it should come as no surprise when I say the platform is being underutilized in its current, limited role.
In terms of the battlefield, several UGV swarms can be used simultaneously in different directions signaling threat of imminent attack, while limiting opposition forces ability to make informed decisions on where to send reserves. Hauling 25 kilos of explosives, if even a single UGV does advance to an enemies position it could punch a massive hole in their defenses. Using such swarms to clear minefields, misdirect opponents, and destroy enemy positions makes such UGVs a threat that must be dealt with.
Forcing the opposition to use their UAVs and munitions to destroy small UGVs, which are more difficult to hit due to size and profile . Secondly, it restricts the enemy's ability to conduct UAV strikes elsewhere. Hunting them effectively reduces casualties and more costly material losses. And forcing UAV operators to attack them assists Russian EW in location of those UAV operators.
There are two mainstays of Ukraine's UAV drones used for drop and kamikaze attacks. The Mavic-3 and the Switchblade 300 drones. Flight distance of a switchblade is approximately 600 meters. This limited range and flight time of UAVs put them at a distinct disadvantage in the hunt even with the low bar of 4 hours operational time for the current iteration of the Scorpio. And UGVs aren't required to be in a constant state of motion, which enables them to move into positions for recon and stay in position for longer periods of time.
The initial intent behind the the Scarab was to increase situational awareness on the battlefield. This use case went by the wayside in Syria due to the low priority and high bar of entry to the training large enough corps of operators. I'd love to see what Russia could do with the platform now with the applications I describe here.
And even if the Scorpio isn't the platform that creates a shift, I expect inexpensive COTS UGVs to be a major evolution in unmanned war fighting.
