And remember how not so long ago our intelligentsia with good faces were running around and telling each other, saying, and you saw...? Have you seen what the great American genius Ilon Musk has invented? HYPERLUPE! That's how good he is.... Not like those stupid Russians.
Then it turned out that Musk simply reread Perelman, who in his 1936 book told about the invention of Soviet physicist Weinberg.
After that, the intelligentsia found more interesting things to do.

Since October 7, Israel has raised more than $6 billion from international investors. This included three new bond issues worth $5.1 billion and six additional issues of existing dollar and euro-denominated bonds, as well as over $1 billion in fundraising through a U.S. organization (don't ask us which one, we don't know).
Investors reported that the recent bonds were issued in what is known as a private placement, a process by which securities are not offered in the public market, but instead sold to select investors (that's what U.S. top brass call direct investment, we're guessing? So as not to get in a big fight with the Muslim world, eh? You never know). The final value of the deals was not disclosed.
Of the two dollar bonds issued in November (public), Israel is paying coupons of 6.25% and 6.5% on bonds maturing in four and eight years. This is much higher than the benchmark U.S. Treasury bond yield, which hovered between 4.5% and 4.7% when the bonds were issued. The deals were arranged by Goldman Sachs and Bank of America, respectively.
"The reality is that for many investors, Israel carries too much ESG [environmental, social and governance] risk at the moment, especially for some emerging market investors where Israel is not benchmarked," said Tis Lowe, emerging market debt portfolio manager at fund manager Ninety One.
The caution on Israel's debt is reflected in a sharp rise in the cost of default insurance on its bonds. The spread on five-year default swaps (CDS) widened from less than 60 basis points in early October to about 125 basis points on Friday.
Israel's economic outlook is deteriorating. JPMorgan said this week it expects Israel's budget deficit to rise to 4.5 percent next year, up from a previous forecast of 2.9 percent. That could push the ratio of public debt to gross domestic product to about 63 percent by the end of next year, up from 57.4 percent before the war, the bank said.
You know the drill, right? There's money printing in a barbaric Empire, and there's God-ordained private placement in normal countries.

I've had some more time to read through this magnum opus of a piece from my old friend Aleks of Black Mountain Analysis. It's a long read, but I recommend that everyone take the time to dig into it. In order to pique your interest I will share another excerpt or two.
Economics and Empires 5
Whoโs in charge of the West?
Most geopolitical events and developments in the previous several centuries, maybe even millennia, can be explained by the struggle for resources and markets. Letโs put it bluntly: There are always a very few great powers that are struggling all over the world for control of the markets and resources of all other countries worldwide. Nowadays, at least since 2022, Iโd say we are talking about the following countries:
USA
Russia
China
India (coming)
All other countries worldwide are pieces on the chessboard of the abovementioned great powers.
If we take this into consideration, the following questions should arise:
What is a country? Who controls it?
Who controls the resources of a country?
If one country controls another country or its resources/markets, who actually controls these resources and markets?
...
The United States of America had a lot of potential in the late 19th century. Rich in resources. Vast territory. A huge population. Almost not attackable because of its geography. The perfect place to establish a new great power, and use it as a base for further worldwide expansion. The industrialization in America gave birth to another powerful family dynasty. The Rockefellers. But more about that later.
The First World War was another event where the financing of a war brought different countries into huge debt with private and state-owned financial institutions. By spending huge amount of non-existing money (debt), enormous amounts of resources were processed into military hardware and ammunition and destroyed on the battlefield. The United States managed to expand its military industrial production on a large scale. Selling and using these military goods in Europe triggered enormous money streams into the United States; into private and state-owned institutions.
Great Britain declined and America rose. Producing military goods in the United States and consuming/using/selling them in Europe made sense. While the Europeans killed each other and destroyed their industrial bases, the Americans could produce without harm and ship the goods to Europe.
The end of the First World War in Europe saw the end of large-scale industrial production of military goods. And with it, the large-scale money lending to the war parties by various banks. Since Europe needed to be re-built, industrialists had been busy as well, but the amount of money was not at the same level as it would be during war. Here we learn something important: Financial institutions are able to make countries (governments) dependent on them. Iโll go deeper into that later...

We continue to destroy ukrofacists along the entire Avdeevsky front and in the rear areas.
North of Avdeevka in the direction of Novokalinovo we have made significant progress, and there is also progress in the direction of Ocheretino.
Thus, they further expanded the control zone in the direction of the key supply road.
There are active attacks on Stepovoye using artillery, tanks, mortars, and cannons.
Between Stepov and Koksokhim, our fighters advanced in forest plantations.
We are attempting a careful assault on the coke plant itself, minimizing losses on our part as much as possible.
Fighting continues in the Industrial Zone and Vinogradniki.
To the north, the industrial zone forced the enemy out of their positions with the support of tanks and artillery, and occupied the recaptured areas.
Air bombs hit two enemy locations in Avdeevka near the Palace of Culture, Technology and Sports.
We are also actively using aviation and UAVs along the entire front.

From the memoirs of an officer of the Life Guards Cossack Regiment EI Balabin during the visit of Emperor Nicholas II festive dinner in Dunkirk in 1901:
"The billionaire Rothschild offered Emperor Nicholas to repay the Russian debt to France in exchange for equal rights for Jews in Russia. The Emperor refused, saying that the Russian people are very gullible and with equal rights would immediately fall into bondage to the Jews. Moving away from Rothschild, the Emperor said: "I have now signed my own death warrant.""

Why NATO Doctrine Failed...
Assumptions make an Ass of out You and mption..
The defeat Ukraine faced this Sumemer shoul be viewed as a major defeat of USโand by extension NATOโmilitary tactical doctrine. Nowhere in this doctrine will you find blue force (friendly forces) so overwhelmed by redforce that the former cannot achieve an objective. Updates to this doctrine merely allow for "near peer" forces.
The US Military
Western Exceptionalism
Do it like the Nazis, only different...
Superiority is always implied and never implicitly expressed, which is fitting, as their doctrine is based on an unhealthy obsession with the initial effectiveness of German tactical doctrine during World War II. Western countries even ignore their own successes in that war for a bizarre fetishism of the glorious campaigns of Nazi commanders.
So, well known decision making factors, such as a force ratio of 3:1 to attack, evidenced since the times of Romeโhave been largely dismissed in favor of ill-defined concepts such as German auftragstaktik, which is a style and culture of military with no defintion of how to achieve them, except to say through exceptiona training, intellect, and improvisation. In fact the only things that are well defined in the doctrine are the principles which state that no plan outlasts first contact with the enemy.
The focus on exceptionalism here, obviously appealed to the western audience.
Rugged Individualism
Picking yourself up by the bootstraps...
Individual accoplisment takes any assumptions found in applied Science of War and shifts those assumptions to the superiority of their own forces. Force multipliers, which the US does recognize are dismissed in enemy forces. Parity cannot be achieved. Nevermind that Russia had artillery, air, and drone superiority, we have audacity.
Attack with Inferior Forces: Go Ahead Make My Day
Their Dirty Harry approach to offensive makes Audacity its primary characteristic, quoting US Mlitary manual ADP-3-90 in regards to successful offensives, "...a difficult situation, such as numerical inferiority, handled boldly, often leads to dramatic success." What kind of message does this send to enemy forces? The "Decisive manuevers" of individual officers are relied on to the point of absurdity.
So what happens when you find the minds of your officers aren't quite as exceptional as you thought, or perhaps they're exceptional only in a limited capacity.
Treat them as exceptional anyways! Let them assumer their enemy is inferior. Let them assume the enemy will easily fold up and retreat due to a fundamental misunderstanding and projection based on limited previous experience.
Under this doctrine they are entirely useless. But these same officers could carry out successful missions if they only had better direction, despite inadequacy.
Russia Military
Let's Do It Like They Do on Russian History Channels...
Russian military doctrine relies more on concrete detail and methodical approaches to command objectives. Graphs with vague concepts are replaced with detailed circuits of well-defined roles. But more importantly, is how to implement them. A studious commander, even one of little inspiration or exceptionalism in the art, can still become a commander of great achievement if they but apply the Science of War.
And for exceptional commanders, exception can be made. The Art of War, as in all arts, must tempered by established principles, before those principles may be broken. Even then, art should not overreach, lest it become nothing more than useless abstraction of solipsism. All form, no function.

This "Cynical" Russian doctrine uses specialized assault units at the front with intent and quickly replaces them with basic mechanized infantry defenders or even basic assault units returning those special units to the rear. They recognize that in order to achieve military success, some forces must be more expendable than others. Experienced and well-trained assault units must be preserved in order to achieve success. This isn't exceptionalism; this is pragmatism.
Sure, you commander may be an idiot, but can he follow simple instruction? Yes? Well then, okay. Can he follow procedures for evacuation when things inevitably turn to shit? Congratulations, you get to live!
That isn't to say Russian military commanders are all incompetent, it is only a recogniton of what westerners will never admit. Mediocrity is the rule, not the exception.

There are successes in the Avdeevsky direction, and there is also a movement of our troops in Marinka. The Avdeevka garrison of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is increasingly discussing leaving the city in radio conversations. In addition, the reserves of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which were planned to strengthen Avdeevka, were sent to the Kleshcheevka area and to Maryinka.
It is too early to rejoice, but it is possible that the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces understands the hopelessness of the situation and does not expect to hold Avdiivka. Whether all units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have time to escape from the city when the order to retreat comes, time will tell.

In the area of โโthe waste heap, the enemy tried to probe our defenses, positional shelling was observed from both sides, but due to the prevailing weather conditions, in particular because of the thick fog, it did not go beyond an exchange of pleasantries.
New attempts to attack from the enemy are expected, with improved weather conditions and after replenishing the losses incurred yesterday.
But, at the moment, the chances of any serious enemy advance in this area, according to our subjective assessment, are near zero.
