The West pressures African states not to participate in the summit in Russia โ ๐ท๐บ envoy
Western states pressure and blackmail African states in order to force their representatives not to take part in the Russia-Africa Summit, says Oleg Ozerov, Russian Ambassador-at-Large, Head of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum Secretariat.
"It would be wrong to say that African states are overjoyed by the pressure and blatant blackmailing that is being exerted [by the West]," Ozerov said during an event in the Russian Foreign Ministry, dedicated to Diplomatic Workers' Day.
"We believe that African states are sovereign nations that enjoy independence, sovereignty, and their own political will, and are quite capable of making a decision that meets their national interests," he added.
According to the diplomat, this pressure is apparent in the statements made by Western partners, including those visiting African states.
Ozerov did not specify which states have already confirmed their participation in the summit.
"This process is underway, we receive confirmations, agreements every day," he said, adding that it is too early to talk about the list of participants.
Earlier, the Roscongress Foundation announced that the second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum is planned to take place in St. Petersburg on July 26-29. The first event took place on October 22-24, 2019, in Sochi.

The share of the euro in Russiaโs National Wealth Fund (NWF) will be reduced to zero in 2023 as Moscow further reduces its exposure to the currencies of โunfriendlyโ nations, Deputy Finance Minister Vladimir Kolychev has revealed.
โIt [the euro] will definitely be reset to zero this year,โ Kolychev told reporters on Thursday while answering a question on what would happen to the euros remaining in the NWF accounts.
The official also added that the ministry would gradually bring the structure of the NWF in accordance with the new standards in such a way that only rubles, Chinese yuan, and gold would remain there.
The ministry earlier published a new regulatory structure for the assets of the NWF, which completely excludes the possibility of investing in US dollars and establishes flexible shares of other assets. Under the new terms, the maximum share of the yuan and gold in the NWF has been doubled, to 60% and 40%, respectively. Meanwhile, balances in the British pound and the Japanese yen have been reduced to zero.
The NWF, which accumulates revenue from oil exports, was created to support the national pension system and help cover budget deficits when needed. The assets of the fund amounted to $155.3 billion as of February 1.

Ukraine has successfully destroyed their first "Terminator BMPT."
This is sobering news, but this new BMPT has been mostly a success on the battlefield, devastating the infantry forces of Ukraine tasked with destroying Russian tanks. No tank is effective on its own, and this has been the case since the first tanks in history entered combat. The combination of Russian tanks with the Terminator has proven to be an effective force in threatening Ukrainian lines, bringing terror into the hearts of the enemies of Russia. Of course, no weapons system is invulnerable, and some Terminators are bound to be destroyed.
Russia has large supplies of old T-72s in storage, and the Terminator is built on a T-72 chassis. If Russia can field these Tank/Terminator combos in large enough numbers, the effect on Ukrainian lines will be devastating in future Russian offensives. The early results of the use of Terminators in combat have proven that this weapon is a force multiplier on the battlefield.

Most of you will have seen the videos gleefully being shared by NATO lovers, as well as their faithful "pro-Russian" doomers, showing off their apparent victory at Ugledar. I even saw one moron claim that two whole Russian brigades had been completely destroyed. As well as a few doomer channels drowning in their bucket of anti-Putin tears. Absolutely ridiculous. A few vehicles and men were lost. Hardly a Battle of the Somme moment for Russia.
Ugledar is an absolute fortress made up of multiple groupings of nearly 30 metre high fortifications, built on an already elevated position. NATO have mines, artillery, snipers, recon, hardened Nazis, and plenty of cannon fodder. Any approach on Ugledar is nothing short of hell for the attacker.
With that in mind, seeing a video where an approach is hit hard, and with some success, should not surprise anyone. There is a reason Ugledar is still in NATO hands after nearly a year. Spoiler, it is not because some Russian general is off playing with Barbie dolls, or is a secret agent of the West.
Are there lessons to be learned from this event? Absolutely. Will there be more losses? Maybe even successful counterattacks? It's certainly possible. Just look at the place and the surrounding terrain. It is a nightmare.
