According to the Idi i Smotri Telegram Channel sources, the Ukrainian army has proved unprepared for combat operations without numerical superiority. The mobilized Russian forces arriving at the front have made a significant difference.

💬"Changed weather conditions are also playing a role. Wheeled transport is no longer an advantage, and the troops need to be provided with heat," a source told the channel.

According to him, the Ukrainian army has to change the configuration of its forces in order to redeploy troops to the Kupyansk and Kherson directions. These two directions will remain a priority.

They stormed in on the fly. They didn't clean up the private sector because the "chiefs" were in a hurry. They promised three stars of Hero for this story, and understandably not to platoon and company commanders. In fact, they stormed the centre of the city, but the Khokhols stormed out of basements and set up a mini-Grozny of the 1996 model. So that's the shit. I don't really understand why you can't go into settlements only after they've been flattened, but it must be another cunning plan.

And regarding the Pavlovka-Novomikhailovka sector, Bereg, who previously fought there, offers his opinion. I trust Bereg implicitly.

However his opinion should be supplemented.

An attack in this area—or at least a demonstration of an attack in this area—was necessary because it constrained the Ukrainian flank to the south of Maryinka.

Therefore, the effectiveness of ill-conceived (mud, motherfucker, mud!) actions here may pay off in the adjacent sector. Or it may not pay off.

Our infantry, despite losses (it is difficult to judge how serious, in any case the death of each Russian soldier is a tragedy), can create the preconditions for the destruction of Ukrainian artillery by UAVs and our artillery.

During the Russian Armed Forces' offensive near #Ugledar, which began last week, Russian units entered the village of #Pavlovka. Urban battles involving armoured vehicles ensued in the streets.

In the video, a Russian kamikaze drone strikes a Ukrainian armoured personnel carrier. After hitting it, a fire breaks out which puts the vehicle out of action, see here the original video 👉 #Kaskad Kamikaze Action.

The footage is further evidence that borne ammunition is an effective weapon, allowing it to pinpoint targets even in residential confrontations.

Perhaps a more widespread use of Lancets and Cubes could have completely suppressed Ukrainian artillery and destroyed the equipment, allowing the Russian Armed Forces to avoid losses and build on the success of the first day's offensive in the #Ugledar sector.

The Three Hundred

The Claim: the 155th Brigade of the Russian marine infantry lost 300 men as wounded, killed, and missing in action in fighting at Pavlovka.

The Russian Ministry of Defence Response: The losses are significantly overstated, the losses of the Brigade constituted 1% KIA and 7% WIA. Most of the 7% WIA have already recovered and returned to battle.

The Renewed Claim: Ah-ha, well the Brigade is 3300 men at full strength, so 1% + 7% = 8% = 264 men killed and wounded (or 33 KIA and 231 WIA).

The Breakdown:

First of all, this is exactly what the reports indicated, that no more than 30 Russian marine infantry of the 155th Brigade lost their lives in the Pavlovka attack. Reports further indicated that the actual number of KIA was between 10 and 30.

Second, the “renewed claim” math only works if the Brigade is assumed to have been at full strength. This is false. From the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict many of the Russian units were understaffed, sometimes severely. This continues to be the case, and the Brigade was not at full strength in Pavlovka fighting.

Accordingly, the truth is definitely somewhere in between the “300 claim” and the MoD rebuttal, but more likely than not it is closer to the MoD numbers. This is confirmed by terse statements from Igor Mangushev.

Colleagues, 155th Brigade just couldn't get that many combat-ready men [GB: to have lost 300]. As of mid-October, when I went on leave, that's for sure was the case. I doubt the situation has changed in two weeks. Cut the losses by three times—I agree, it could happen. But 300 people means that the brigade is gone and there is no one to write letters to. And they wouldn't have gotten into Pavlovka.

There were never hundreds of mobilized men under Pavlovka. If there had been, Pavlovka would've been crushed to hell. On the contrary, there are no men. Definitely not hundreds. There's no place to put them in Pavlovka.

Case closed, in my opinion. The losses of 100 (all in), with an approximate breakdown of 10-20 KIA and 80-90 WIA appears to be closer to truth.
