European energy bills hit record despite government support

European households are paying more than ever for electricity and natural gas, even as EU governments have pledged more than €550 billion to protect citizens and businesses from the energy crisis, Bloomberg reported.

The average retail price of gas in the European Union and the UK was nearly €0.18 per kilowatt-hour in October, doubling from the same month last year, according to energy consultancy VaasaETT. Household electricity costs have soared 67% to €0.36 per kilowatt-hour.

On a monthly basis, the average unit rate for electricity in October increased by 3.4%, for gas – by 2.5%. The biggest monthly gains were in Dublin, where power rates climbed 44%, while the average gas price in Rome soared by 97%.

The unseasonably warm weather in October brought relief to both consumers and governments as fewer people turned on the heating, the publication said. Yet, prices will definitely rise as Europe approaches winter.

#Kupyansk Sector:

▪️ The fighting has taken on a positional character. Sporadic fighting is taking place over the hills at the village of #Yagodnoye near #Ivanovka. Neither side is able to break through the enemy's orders.

#Svatovo Sector:

▪️ The enemy continues its attempts to reach the village of #Kuzemovka.

Judging by internal AFU reports, Ukrainian formations are reporting "heavy positional fighting" west of #Kuzemovka almost daily, with 200 metres of territory "captured" and "abandoned" at a time.

On the map this looks like a constantly changing frontline, although in fact it is a rather conventional control of the fields in the "grey zone".

▪️ An AFU assault group, reinforced by mobile groups of foreign mercenaries, attacked #Novoselovskoye from the direction of #Berestovoye. Taken under concentrated fire from Russian troops, the enemies was forced to retreat to their initial positions.

#Lyman Sector:

▪️ Assault groups of the 66th AFU Mechanized Brigade unsuccessfully attempted to attack the Russian positions in the direction of #Makeevka and #Chervonopopovka.

➖ Two companies of the enemy, supported by armoured vehicles, advanced stealthily from the #Zherebet River side to the #Svatovo - #Kremennaya route, but were ambushed. After suffering casualties, the Ukrainian units retreated to their original positions.

➖ A motorized infantry company, which had been detached by the AFU command to cover the retreat of the assault groups, came under targeted artillery fire and hastily withdrew to the river having lost a significant personnel.

▪️ The AFU forces tried to entrench themselves with up to a company under the cover of light armoured vehicles in the forest belt towards #Ploshchanka. A counterattack by fighters of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Army dispersed the enemies and put them on the rout.

▪️ Enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups regularly cross the Seversky Donets River near #Serebryanka and conduct reconnaissance battle near #Dibrova.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

💥 In Kupyansk direction, 2 enemy battalion tactical groups, supported by foreign mercenaries, had been conducting offensive operations towards Nizhnyaya Duvanka and Svatovo (Lugansk People's Republic).

◽️ The offensive has been halted by Army Aviation, artillery fire, and intensive action of Russian forces.

◽️ Up to 100 Ukrainian personnel and mercenaries, 2 tanks, 5 armoured fighting vehicles, and 5 pickups have been eliminated.

💥 In Krasny Liman direction, 2 enemy battalion tactical groups attempted to launch an offensive towards Ploshchanka and Chervonopopovka (Lugansk People's Republic).

◽️ All the attacks have been repelled.

◽️ Comprehensive fire attack and intensive action of Russian forces have resulted in causing casualties of over 120 Ukrainian personnel killed and up to 130 wounded, 3 tanks, 2 armoured fighting vehicles, and 5 motor vehicles.

💥 In Nikolayev–Krivoy Rog direction, Russian units, supported by artillery, have repelled an offensive of a battalion tactical group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Dudchany, Novaya Kamenka, Belogorka (Kherson region).

◽️ The enemy has been driven back to its initial positions.

◽️ Over 110 Ukrainian personnel, 11 armoured fighting vehicles, and 13 motor vehicles have been eliminated.

💥 Operational-Tactical and Army Aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery have neutralised 7 command posts near Ivanovka, Krakhmalnoye (Kharkov region), Vodyanoye, Pavlovka (Donetsk People's Republic), Novaya Kamenka, Davydov Brod, Belogorka (Kherson region), as well as 72 artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and hardware in 186 areas.

◽️ 2 ordnance depots have been destroyed near Belogorye and Kushchovoye (Zaporozhye region), as well as 1 depot of fuel for AFU hardware near Galitsinovo (Nikolayev region).

◽️ 2 radars of Ukrainian S-300 air defence missile systems have been destroyed near Kramatorsk (Donetsk People's Republic) and Volnyansk (Zaporozhye region).

◽️ Moreover, 1 self-propelled fire unit of Ukrainian Buk-M1 air defence missile system has been destroyed near Novosyolka (Donetsk People's Republic).

💥 Air defence facilities have shot down 1 Mi-8 helicopter of Ukrainian Air Force near Novaya Kamenka (Kherson region).

◽️ In addition, 6 unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed near Berestovoye, Yegorovka, Yevgenovka and Valeryanovka (Donetsk People's Republic).

◽️ Furthermore, 14 projectiles of HIMARS and Olkha multiple-launch rocket systems have been intercepted near Novaya Kakhovka, Otradokamenka, Korsunka (Kherson region), Starognatovka, Gruzsko-Lomovka (Donetsk People's Republic), and Donetsk.

⚠️ Kiev regime continued its provocations aimed at creating a possible technological disaster at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

◽️ Over the past 24 hours, artillery units of the AFU have launched 7 large-calibre projectiles at the industrial area of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

◽️ Ukrainian artillery had been conducting the shelling from the AFU-controlled area of Vysshetarasovka (Dnepropetrovsk region).

💥 The hostile battery has been neutralised by Russian artillery's couterattack.

◽️ The radiation environment at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant remains normal.

The day before yesterday, Semyon Pegov reported that #Donetsk airport territory had been completely cleared. I confirm his words and publish snippets of videos from the storming of the last enemy strongholds at DAP - the Big and Small Ants.

All the airport buildings were controlled by our forces back in 2015. But the airport territory is huge, more than 10 square kilometres. And near the village of #Opytnoye, there were still positions left unoccupied by us.

We took them more than a month ago, but decided to hoist the banner when we pushed back the enemy forces behind the M-4 motorway, to be sure.

Operations were conducted jointly with the company of the 1539th "Archangel Michael" battalion, with tanks of OTB and artillerymen of the 238th Artillery Brigade.
