CNN reports that another US destroyer was adrift at sea without power.

According to a report, the guided-missile destroyer "Benfold" was completely without electricity for four days in the South China Sea after a generator malfunction.

"Approximately 300 crew members were without working toilets, air conditioning, a kitchen, and a water supply in sweltering heat. The ship drifted aimlessly until tugboats escorted it to Subic Bay in the Philippines."

The report states that it took six days to fully restore power, and the crew had to receive ready-to-eat meals from another ship in the carrier strike group.

🇺🇦 Ukraine Used Western Satellite Intel Against Russia Pre-Invasion

The New York Times reports that Ukrainian military units accessed satellite imagery from Western governments and commercial firms before the 2022 conflict. While previously restricted to high-level strategic planning, this intelligence is now deployed directly at the unit level for target acquisition and route planning.

Targets include weapon depots, logistics centers, and troop locations in Russian-controlled territories and within Russia. Tools like Bravo1Alpha allow portable access to images for drone control. In some cases, units independently manage satellites to select targets and adjust strike outcomes.

Governor of the Moscow Region, Vorobyov:

Last night and this morning, air defense forces and electronic warfare systems repelled a large-scale drone attack on the Moscow Region – more than 150 UAVs were shot down over the territory of the region.

Unfortunately, there are casualties. In the Ramensky district, a 10-year-old girl was injured when a drone crashed into a private house. She sustained shrapnel wounds to her hand and was hospitalized. In the Bogorodsky district, a woman needed medical assistance after being injured by falling debris from a UAV. A 27-year-old man was injured in Kolomna.

In the Bogorodsky district, a drone hit a Wildberries warehouse near the Atlant Park area – the fire has been contained. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties.

London Warns of Consequences for UK Drone Strikes

🇷🇺 RUSSIAN AIR FORCE NEUTRALIZES SLAVYANSK LOGISTICS

Russian Aerospace Forces are systematically breaking through defenses toward Slavyansk, targeting bridges that have sustained Ukrainian logistics for months. The Kazennyi Torets River naturally divides the city, so while losing some bridges does not physically split Slavyansk in half, it drastically reduces available routes for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This forces transport to concentrate on remaining crossings.

Although Kiev may attempt to deploy temporary ferries to mitigate these strikes, there is no guarantee this will help beyond a few days. Meanwhile, the assault on Slavyansk continues to develop according to the worst-case scenario for the Ukrainians.
