Щодня діти разом із дорослими приходять до зоопарку, щоб подивитися на тварин. Але за красивими вивісками та клітками вони часто не бачать в яких умовах насправді змушені жити ці тварини.
Одеський зоопарк уже вкотре привертає увагу суспільства через умови утримання тварин. Особливо гострою стала ситуація зі слонами, яка спричинила широкий розголос і появу закликів на кшталт: «Змініть керівництво!»
Але чи справді проблема лише в керівництві?
Тигр не може полювати. Вовк не може вільно долати десятки кілометрів. Ми вважаємо, що існування зоопарків — проблема.
Навіть якщо вольєр здається просторим, а тварина виглядає доглянутою, це не змінює того факту, що її життя обмежене штучним середовищем, замкненим простором і відсутністю можливості жити відповідно до своєї природної поведінки.
