I did my work experience with one of these old signwriting firms where they did some of the last painted pub signs. Sadly they were being phased out in favour of cheaper, faster digital printing.
The old painters spent most of their time doing awnings, painting brands like 'Carling' onto the canvas. It's a skill that's pretty much dead in modern signmaking.

I was out in Selby centre handing out leaflets the day before. Almost everyone I spoke to;

“I don’t vote”
“I’ll never be voting again”
“If you’d got to me 6 years ago, maybe”
“What’s the point?”

Apathy is the systems greatest strength. They’ve made it so complex and turgid that the average person has no desire to influence their government.

The largest movement of people we’ve seen in recent years were the Covid protests and the call of the people was a very limp “leave us alone.” It stopped and the people went back to their lives.

There’s an incredibly high level of shit that everyone is happy with taking and as long as it’s slowly increased I’m not sure there’ll be any mass push back.

Reading a story about the rise of the far-right Vox party in Spain ahead of tomorrow's elections and I see this quote from a centre-right potential coalition party.

The prison bus never came for Ash on Friday, his sentencing has been delayed to Aug 31st. The state has also said they're now pursuing a 9 YEAR sentence for possession. They failed to find any intent so they've cooked up a story that the White Stag Athletic Club was the first step on a path to terrorism. This is entirely inference and not supported by any evidence, biased judge looks set to allow this travesty.

Despite the judge putting on a show of outrage, it's thought that the prison bus transport was intentionally sabotaged so that instead of the defence barrister presenting the judge with arguments AGAINST a sentence of 6-9 years in-person with the judge and prosecution having to react in the moment, the defence now has to file the reasoning by mid-August, giving time for both the state prosecution and the judge to work around those arguments.

Ash is being completely railroaded and any letters of support would be most appreciated at this time as he's just gone from thinking he has 2-3 inside to potentially 6-9.

I've picked up a vinyl plotter cheap and looking for somewhere to buy new blades and I've stumbled across a manufacturer over in Liverpool who has this old-school website demanding you call him to make an order and saying "you can buy that cheap shit off Amazon if you want but don't come crying to me when it cuts like shit and your job's all fucked up." 😂

Turns out it’s a Lancaster bomber.

Fun fact about Lancasters: They we’re built at the Avro factory just north of Leeds. During the war the factory had turf on it’s roof to protect it from being identified by aerial photography. As additional security they even had fake cows and sheep that would be repositioned at the start of everyday so any surveillance would look like a normal farm field.
