The otters are at it again! A surfer at Steamer Lane had quite the encounter this week — a sea otter bit her foot and then stole her surfboard, refusing to give it back for around 20 minutes while rescuers rushed in. The surfer, Isabella Orduna, said she felt “a nip,” turned around, and found the otter perched proudly on her board. Lifeguards eventually retrieved it, but not before the furry bandit enjoyed a good lounge. Officials aren’t sure if this was the infamous Otter 841, known for a surfboard-stealing spree in Santa Cruz, or a bold new copycat. Either way, the legend continues 🦦🏄‍♀️
