President Putin on the passing of Pope Francis:
π Source
Pope Francis enjoyed great international respect as a faithful servant of Christian teachings, a wise spiritual leader, statesman, and a consistent advocate of the high values of humanism and justice.
Throughout all the years of his pontificate, he actively promoted dialogue between the Russian Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches, as well as constructive cooperation between Russia and the Holy See.
I had the opportunity to meet with this remarkable man on multiple occasions, and I will forever cherish the fondest memories of him.
