A thorough exchange of views took place regarding the current situation in Syria. The Russian side emphasized its principled position in support of Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. In this regard, the importance of implementing a set of measures aimed at achieving sustainable normalization in the country and fostering an intra-Syrian dialogue involving major political forces and ethno-confessional groups was highlighted.
Vladimir Putin reaffirmed Russia’s continued readiness to assist in improving Syria’s socio-economic situation, including providing humanitarian aid to its residents.
A number of pressing issues related to practical cooperation in trade, economic, educational, and other fields were discussed, particularly in light of recent negotiations in Damascus involving a Russian interagency delegation. It was agreed to continue such productive contacts to develop a broad agenda for advancing bilateral cooperation.

President Putin on the passing of Pope Francis:
🔗 Source
Pope Francis enjoyed great international respect as a faithful servant of Christian teachings, a wise spiritual leader, statesman, and a consistent advocate of the high values of humanism and justice.
Throughout all the years of his pontificate, he actively promoted dialogue between the Russian Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches, as well as constructive cooperation between Russia and the Holy See.
I had the opportunity to meet with this remarkable man on multiple occasions, and I will forever cherish the fondest memories of him.
