🇷🇺🌊🌊🌊🇮🇳 On September 16, Ratheesh Nair, Honorary Consul of Russia in Trivandrum, visited Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 within his “Voyage@555” project dedicated to the 555th anniversary of Afanasy Nikitin's journey.

⚡️ The visit started with a meeting with Minister Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Baku Petr Volokovykh. The role of Afanasy Nikitin's legacy in the development of the International North-South Transport Corridor was discussed.

🇷🇺 Honorary Consul also got acquainted with the Russkiy Mir (Russian World) Cabinet at the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

📆 Along the route, Ratheesh Nair is further scheduled to visit Iran 🇮🇷 and Oman 🇴🇲. His journey will last till October 12.

🇷🇺🌊🌊🌊🇮🇳 On September 23, the second stage of the "Voyage@555" project, dedicated to the journey of the Honorary Consul of Russia in Trivandrum Ratheesh Nair along the route of Russian merchant Afanasy Nikitin, during which he visited Azerbaijan, came to an end.

🟣During his 6-day stay in Baku, Ratheesh Nair held a number of meetings with diplomats and linguists.

🏥 Together with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences of Kerala Mohanan Kunnummal, prospects for cooperation were discussed at a meeting with representatives of the Baku branch of the First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University).

🗺 Following the route of the famous merchant of the 15th century, Ratheesh Nair visited Lerik, Lankaran and Shamakhi, where he talked with local historians.

🟣There, exactly 555 years ago, the Indian leg of Russian traveller and merchant Afanasy Nikitin's journey began.

🤝 Ratheesh Nair visited the Gujarat University, where he held talks with its Vice Chancellor Dr Neerja A Gupta. The prospects of opening a Russian language course at the university and a Hindi language course at the Astrakhan State University were discussed.

📝 An essay competition on the peaceful use of nuclear energy and the influence of Russian writers on Gujarat authors has been announced in local universities. The best works will be published in a collection of articles prepared by the Honorary Consul.

The parties also discussed cooperation in teaching Telugu at the St Petersburg State University.

🇷🇺🌊🌊🌊🇮🇳 On October 12-13, Ratheesh Nair, Honorary Consul of Russia in Trivandrum, visited Kozhikode, as part of the "Voyage@555" project.

📚 Ratheesh Nair had a meeting with the management of AFRC Book House, which has a large collection of books in the Russian language. Following the talks, a memorandum was signed to establish a center of Russian culture.

🏛 During the conversation with Mayor of the city Dr Beena Philip, it was decided to install a bust of Afanasy Nikitin in the street named after the Russian traveller.

💼 In conjunction with the trip's mission to promote economic ties, a trade conference was organized in Kozhikode to highlight business opportunities in Russia. It was attended by representatives of business community and Russian banks.

🇷🇺🌊🌊🌊🇮🇳 On October 14, the final stage of Honorary Consul of Russia in Trivandrum Ratheesh Nair's "Voyage@555" project dedicated to the 555th anniversary of Afanasy Nikitin's "A Journey Beyond The Three Seas" was completed.

🔘Since September 2, retracing the route of the Russian merchant's trip, Ratheesh Nair visited more than 50 cities in Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Oman and India.

🏛 Mayor of Kozhikode, the final point of Afanasy Nikitin's journey, Beena Phillip opened the solemn evening to mark the completion of the "Voyage@555". Among speakers at the event were representatives of the local business community, educational institutions and cultural figures. During the ceremony, the Honorary Consul announced that on October 20 Trivandrum would host a separate evaluation meeting in the format of a panel discussion to summarize the outcomes of the initiative.

🕺 The evening ended with a gala concert by the Kuban folk dance ensemble "Stanitsa", which was attended by about a thousand spectators.

🇷🇺🌊🌊🌊🇮🇳 On October 20, Trivandrum hosted a panel discussion on the outcomes of the "Voyage@555" project of Russian Honorary Consul Ratheesh Nair that was dedicated to the 555th anniversary of Afanasy Nikitin's "A Journey Beyond The Three Seas".

📄 In total, as part of Ratheesh Nair's initiative, 11 online meetings were held between representatives of Russian and Indian universities, as a result of which two agreements on cooperation in student exchanges and business trips of teachers were signed. Free online courses in Russian language learning were organized in seven Indian states, as well as an essay competition on Russian literature and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

✍️ It was planned that from 2025 to 2027 Kerala will host Days of Russian Regions, while nine Russian regions will participate in a bilateral tourism fair in October 2025.

👥 The event was attended by the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies of the State of Kerala G.R.Anil, representatives of the business community, public and political cirlces.
