🇷🇺 On June 11, 2024, the Russian Embassy in India hosted a National Day reception.

👥 H.E. Mr Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Foreign Secretary, Government of India, attended the function as the Chief Guest. Among the guests were senior officials of the Government of India, Members of the Parliament, eminent representatives of local political parties, business, social and religious circles, scientific and cultural community, mass media, ambassadors and military attaches of foreign states, Russian compatriots.

💬 In his welcoming address H.E. Mr Denis Alipov, Ambassador of Russia to India, underscored the consistent enhancement of Russia’s role in global affairs amid the emergence of a multipolar world order, the strengthening of its technological and financial sovereignty as well as its unwavering commitment to friendship and comprehensive development of the special and privileged strategic partnership with India. From the International Space Station the guests were greeted by crew commander Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko.

🎶 The JazzPlay band’s performance supported by the Government of Moscow became a bright decoration of the reception that ended with festive fireworks.

📰 Today, on June 12, on Russia Day, “The Indian Express” and “The Financial Express” newspapers published a special report dedicated to the Russia-India bilateral ties and the Russian BRICS Chairmanship in 2024 with a message by Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov! 🇷🇺

💬 Key theses:

🟣The Russia-India special and privileged strategic partnership keeps going strong, remains coherent, diverse and exceptionally stable, and serves as an example of trustworthy relationship between nations which never compromise on mutual respect and non-interference in domestic affairs and always accommodate each other’s legitimate national interests.

🟣To address the current global turbulence, we have dramatically intensified bilateral contacts at all levels and found new ways to increase economic cooperation to record high numbers. Russia has solidified its position as India’s fourth largest trading partner.

🟣The civilizational connection between Russia and India goes back centuries and cements the goodwill, as we take profound interest in each other’s history, culture and traditions.

🟣The strengthening of our ties and coordination at the international platforms, in particular, under Russia's 2024 BRICS Chairmanship, significantly contribute to the promotion of multipolarity as a core precondition for creation of favorable environment for our countries to grow and prosper.

🖼 🇷🇺 On the occasion of Russia Day, on June 12, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts in New Delhi hosted the grand opening of an exhibition of paintings by contemporary Russian artists from the private collection of Indian diplomat and artist Abhay Kumar, who is currently the Deputy Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

🤝 The ceremony was attended by Minister Counsellor & DCM of the Russian Embassy in India Roman Babushkin.

📌 The exhibition is open till June 18.

Celebration of Russia Day

🇷🇺 On June 12, the Russian House in Mumbai hosted the 2nd Indian Conference of Russophiles "I Love Russia".

💬 Russian Consul General in Mumbai Alexey Surovtsev and Director of the Russian House in Mumbai Elena Remizova addressed the guests with welcoming words.

📸 As part of the conference, a photo exhibition "Mothers and Children in National Costumes" was opened, and a film "On the Role of Traditional Values ​​in Maintaining Global Stability" was screened.

💬 More than 20 speakers addressed the audience with reports on bilateral cooperation in science, education, and culture. Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar spoke on cooperation in area of lawmaking.

🎶 More than 80 people took part in the event. The highlight of the evening was the performance of harpist Megan Pandian with her students and famous singers Irina Mishra and Vikas Gogte.
