On November 10, Secretary of the Security Council of the #Russia'n Federation Nikolai Patrushev will visit #India.

In #NewDelhi he will take part in a multilateral meeting of the National Security Advisers/ Secretaries of Security Councils on the situation in #Afghanistan

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev at the Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on #Afghanistan.

On November 10, Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi received the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, as well as the National Security Advisers/ Secretaries of the Security Councils of India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, issues of regional security related to the situation in Afghanistan were discussed.

During a bilateral meeting in New Delhi Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev and the National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of India Ajit Doval discussed plans for further cooperation between Russia and India in the sphere of security, and touched upon a number of regional problems. Special attention was paid to cooperation on various information security issues.

At the end of the meeting Patrushev thanked the Indian Side for organizing the Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan that took place in New Delhi today.

🎙 Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on criticism by American politicians of Russia’s participation in international efforts to combat climate change

🇺🇸 American politicians, including former US President Barack Obama, are criticising Russia for insufficient efforts to counter the effects of climate change at the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

☝️ These groundless accusations are perplexing, to say the least. As distinct from the US, Russia holds a consistent position on climate change that does not change depending on the political environment.

The national leaders have set a specific target for the Russian economy – to reach carbon neutrality by 2060. In fact, the Russian Federation is a global decarbonisation leader: in the past 20 years, the carbon intensity of the Russian economy decreased by an average of 2.7 percent every year, which is more than in the world as a whole and even in the G7 countries.
