Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

#RussiaIndia consultations on security issues have started in #NewDelhi. #Russia's Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev is meeting with #India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Russian-Indian consultations on security issues were held in New Delhi today.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev and National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Ajit Doval discussed deepening bilateral cooperation in the field of security with an emphasis on further interaction on the anti-terrorist track, combating illegal migration and drug trafficking. 

Attention was paid to intensifying joint work of the both country's special services and military bodies.
As a follow-up to the telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 24, an exchange of views took place on the military, political and socio-economic situation in Afghanistan. 

They also touched upon humanitarian and migration problems in this country, as well as prospects for the Russian-Indian joint efforts aimed at creating conditions for launching a peaceful settlement process on the basis of an intra-Afghan dialogue.

In addition, the Sides agreed to coordinate the approaches of Russia and India in multilateral formats on the Afghan settlement.

The importance of defining parameters of the future state structure of Afghanistan by the Afghans themselves, as well as the need to prevent the escalation of violence, social, ethnic and confessional contradictions in the country, were emphasized.

#Russia'n Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev met with #India'n External Affairs Minister Dr S.Jaishankar. A wide range of bilateral issues was discussed. They also exchanged views on a number of international & regional problems, including the situation in #Afghanistan.
Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi received the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.

During the conversation, a wide range of issues of the #RussiaIndia cooperation, as well as a number of topics of the international agenda were touched upon.

Opportunities for further development of the special and privileged strategic partnership between #Russia and #India, including deepening political dialogue at the highest and high levels, were discussed.

They also spoke about the prospects for strengthening interaction in multilateral formats, including the #SCO and #BRICS, as well as development of the Russian-Indian cooperation in the trade and economic sphere.

The two Sides reaffirmed their intention to strengthen coordination in the field of enhancing the regional stability, including on the Afghan direction.
