🇷🇺🤝🇮🇳 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with Minister of External Affairs of India Dr S.Jaishankar in Moscow on November 8, 2022
Russian-Indian relations constitute a special and privileged strategic partnership. Over the past decades, the two countries have formed effective cooperation mechanisms.
The key areas of cooperation between Russia and India include further intensification of the political dialogue in the bilateral format and at international platforms, and stimulating economic, financial, energy, military-technical, humanitarian, research and development cooperation.
The foreign ministers of Russia and India will discuss further promotion of cooperation in the key areas and compare notes on the schedule of the upcoming contacts.
The main topics will include trade, investment, transport, logistics, using national currencies in mutual settlements, and prospective energy projects, particularly on the Arctic shelf and in the Russian Far East.
The ministers will exchange assessments of topical international issues, focusing on interaction within the UN, the SCO, G20 and RIC. They will discuss India’s SCO Presidency, counter-terrorist measures and regional issues, including building a security architecture in the Asia-Pacific Region, Iran’s nuclear issue and the state of affairs in Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine.
Russia and India support the active formation of a fairer, more equal and polycentric world order, realising that it is unacceptable to promote imperialistic dictate on the global arena. Both countries have close positions on essential issues and support compliance with the generally recognised norms of international law enshrined in the UN Charter. They seek to promote a unifying agenda and build a constructive dialogue in relations between countries.

🇷🇺🙏🇮🇳 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks during talks with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S.Jaishankar (November 8, 2022):
We are delighted to welcome you to Moscow. We talk regularly, & this reflects the pace of growth that our leaders have set for our special and privileged strategic partnership.
During the period of rapid change that the international community is going through, it is important to regularly coordinate our assessments & further plans to promote the achievement of all the objectives set by President of Russia Vladimir Putin & Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in politics, trade & economic spheres, investment, & technology, as well as in cultural & humanitarian exchanges.
We always closely coordinate our actions at international organisations, including the UN, the UNSC where India is a non-permanent member, in BRICS, the G20 & the SCO. All of this enriches our agenda.
I am sure that we will have a rewarding discussion on all these matters today.
