🎙 In conclusion of his working visit to Kazakhstan, President Vladimir Putin answered media questions.

Read in full

🔹 We are open [to negotiations with Ukraine]. But as soon as our troops withdrew from Kiev, the Ukrainian authorities lost any interest in the talks. If they ever get ready for this, we will welcome it. At that point, the mediation efforts of all the stakeholders may come in handy.

🔹 If it turns out that humanitarian corridors for grain shipments were used to commit terrorist acts, this would raise a big question about the continued functioning of that corridors.

🔹 We did not set ourselves the aim of destroying Ukraine. What is happening today is unpleasant, putting it mildly, but we would have got the same thing a bit later but in worse conditions for us.

🔹 Sending [NATO] troops into direct engagement, a direct clash with the Russian Army is a very dangerous step that could lead to a global catastrophe. I hope those who talk about this will be smart enough not to undertake such steps.

🎙 FM Sergey Lavrov’s answers to questions from Channel One, Astana, October 14

Will the new Russia-Central Asia format replace the work of the CIS and other organisations?

💬 This format has existed for many years. <...> The discussions have yielded ideas and initiatives that should be organically implemented as part of the Russia-Central Asia interaction. In no way it replaces the CIS, the CSTO or the EAEU.

Central Asia now provides more and more opportunities for the development of continent-wide cooperation.

Does Ukraine's non-participation in the CIS (although it did not formally withdraw from it) deprive the Commonwealth of anything? Is it an omission?

💬 It is a problem for Ukraine, as well as for Moldova that they did not attend the events. We have long since come to the conclusion that we need to rely on those who are sincerely and genuinely interested in developing cooperation. Ukraine, on the other hand, is interested in undermining all ties that exist in the CIS space.

⚡️ Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question concerning remarks by Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten

The other day, UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten accused the Russian army of using medical drugs for carrying out sexual assault on peaceful civilians as part of its “military strategy.” How could you comment on this?

💬 The substance of what Ms Patten said does not deserve a serious comment. Her remarks are beyond what is reasonable. Besides, this UN official has clearly exceeded her mandate and powers. At the same time, she is not concealing that her judgments are based on the patchy data provided by an “independent international commission of inquiry on Ukraine,” which Russia does not recognise. In her own words, it is hard to verify this information. To put it differently, it is the classical “highly likely” affair, and this time it is at the level of a perverted fantasy.

Generally, this reminds one of the false and provocative statements by former Ukrainian commissioner for human rights Lyudmila Denisova, who confessed that she had invented many facts figuring in her statements to [help Ukraine] obtain Western weapons and funding. Eventually, as we remember, the Kiev regime dismissed Denisova for her gross anti-Russia lies which she told to mislead the international community.

These planted stories are nothing new. In 2011, Reuters reported that troops loyal to Muammar Gaddafi practiced rape, for which they stocked up on Viagra. The journalists did this to support the plans to destroy Libya. As we can see, the West is again using the same templates in its hybrid war.

In case you had questions on the Black Sea Grain Initiative:

📊 As of October 14, 2022, 334 vessels delivered 7,448,204 metric tons of grain and other foodstuffs from Ukraine.

🔸 52,5% went to rich countries with developed economies.

🔸 22% went to developing countries with “above average” economies.

🇺🇳 2,5% was bought out by the UN World Food Programme for its for its operations in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Yemen, Somalia and Ethiopia.

❗️ Only 23% went directly to the countries with struggling economies, the actual “countries-in-need”.

🌾 Even though the Black Sea Grain Initiative undoubtedly contributes to addressing the global food crisis, it is far from being the “key” to “saving the poor countries from starvation”. Don’t let the Western propaganda fool you.

⚡️ Russian Defence Ministry:

❗️ The Kiev regime continues its provocations aimed at creating a possible technological disaster at Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.

Today, around 4.00 am, the enemy, with forces of up to two companies, made another attempt to land troops on the left bank of the Kakhovka Reservoir and seize the territory of the nuclear power plant. For the landing, the enemy involved 37 motor boats and cutters (12 heavy and 25 light types) with AFU servicemen.

The Russian troops took active actions when guarding the outer perimeter of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant to neutralise the enemy’s landing troops.

In addition, in 24 hours, the AFU artillery fired 13 shells at the northern outskirts of Energodar and the territory adjacent to the nuclear power plant.

⚠️ There are no casualties and destruction at the station. The radiation environment remains normal.

⚡️ Young reporter of the "Tavria" TV Channel Vlada Lugovskaya was among the journalists filming the ferry crossing when the Ukrainian forces targeted civilians with HIMARS using M30A1 cluster munitions with tungsten balls, leaving 4 dead, 13 injured. 2 journalists were killed.

💬 Vlada Lugovskaya: I know for sure what I saw with my own eyes: there was no army personnel there. This was a column with civilians only – just people who wanted to leave the city and get to a safer place.

And this is what they did to them.
💥Last night, the criminal #Kievregime fired from the American MLRS "Himars" at the pontoons in #Kherson, where people were evacuating to safe areas. Of 12 missiles, 11 shot down by air defense, but one reached the target. Four people killed, kids and journalists injured. Ukr.formations intentionally hit civilians

❗️Each time you hear from Washington or from its puppets in Kiev about the "effectiveness of foreign weapons", just remember the civilian victims from the pontoon-crossing in #Kherson. Remember and realize why the weapons were delivered to UA: to kill with their use Russian and Ukrainian civilians

⚡️2 journalists killed during the shelling of the crossing in #Kherson by the Ukr.formations. The silence of the #OSCE on this matter once again shows: Numerous sound statements about the priority of the safety of reporters are just empty words. Otherwise, lives of Russian journalists - #ThisIsDifferent?

In a number of states, state policies and media campaigns have increased the level of historical revisionism aimed at distorting and rewriting history, falsifying the USSR's key role in securing the Victory over Nazism. The importance of this historic event for all mankind can hardly be overestimated.

🎙 Statement by Russia's Permanent Representative Vassily #Nebenzia at UNSC briefing on Ukraine. October 21, 2022

🔹 Eight years of bitter experience of the people Donbass have shown us what the Kiev regime is capable of, a decision was made to cool down the belligerent ardor of Kiev’s brazen terrorists.

🔹 As reported by the Donbass republics, from February to October bombardments by Ukrainian heavy weaponry damaged more than 10,000 housings and more than 2,000 facilities of civilian infrastructure, including 424 education and 109 medical facilities in the DPR and LPR-controlled areas. American HIMARS systems were actively used in those attacks.

🔹 Western states gave a carte blanche to Zelensky’s regime to commit whatever crimes, and so Kiev is consistently targeting the civilian infrastructure of its former territories.

⚡️ According to the available information, two organisations of Ukraine have been directly ordered to create the so-called ‘dirty bomb’. The works are at their concluding stage.

◽️ Moreover, we have information about contacts between the Office of the President of Ukraine and representatives of the United Kingdom regarding the possible reception of technologies to create nuclear weapons.

◽️ With this purpose, Ukraine has got relevant production and scientific capacities. There are enterprises of nuclear industry in Ukraine that possess stockpiles of radioactive substances that can be used for creating the ‘dirty bomb’. These concern three operating nuclear power plants: the Yuzhnoukrainsk, Khmelnitsky and Rovno nuclear power plants with nine storage pools for spent nuclear fuel that contain up to 1.5 thousand tonnes of uranium enriched with up to 1.5% of oxide.

◽️ Over 22,000 fuel assemblies (21,284 and 1,692 respectively) are stored at the inoperable Chernobyl nuclear power plant with radioactive waste repositories, as well as products that suppose using Uranium-235 and Plutonium-239 that constitute the backbone of a nuclear charge.

◽️ More than 50,000 m³ of radioactive waste that are also apt as the backbone for creating the ‘dirty bomb’ can be stored at the recently established enterprise ‘Vektor’ designed for radioactive waste reprocessing at the radioactive waste disposal sites ‘Buryakovka’, ‘Podlesny’, and ‘Rossokha’ at Pridneprovsky chemical plant.

◽️ Moreover, the Eastern Mining and Processing Plant extracts uranium ore at two of the three shafts with a capacity of up to 1,000 tonnes per year (the plant includes three shafts for extracting uranium ore, two of them – Ingulskaya and Smolinskaya – are operable, while one of them – Novokonstantinovskaya – is currently under construction).

◽️ It is also to be emphasised that Ukraine has at its disposal a scientific base: the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology. Its scientists were involved in the nuclear programme of the USSR where various testing systems are still in operation, including Uragan thermonuclear systems. The second base is the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine located in Kiev. Its BBP-M reactor is used for research that supposes the employment of high-activity radioactive materials.

🎙 FM Sergey Lavrov’s remarks and answers to media questions at a joint news conference following talks with Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha

📍 Moscow, October 24, 2022

💬 Russia greatly appreciates the fact that, given the current international situation, the Islamic world, the leading organisation of which is headed by Hissein Brahim Taha, remains independent and firmly committed to the principle of the sovereign equality of states, and calls for promoting constructive relationships between all countries.

We drew the Secretary General’s attention to the situation in the world grain and fertiliser markets. Based on facts, we showed him how the Western sanctions were impeding exports of these Russian products to the OIC countries.

❗️ We know which institutions and research centres in Ukraine have the technology to produce a “dirty bomb.” We double-checked this information through the appropriate channels. This is not idle suspicion.
