On October 9, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov took part in the traditional autumn Russian-Indian festival in the Kullu Valley in the Himalayas. For many years, the holiday has been organized in the museum complex of the Roerichs' estate in Naggar, Himachal Pradesh.

"We regard the International Roerich Memorial Trust as one of the most important projects of the Russian-Indian humanitarian cooperation and aim to turn it by joint efforts into a world-class cultural and educational center," the Russian Ambassador underscored.
One of the main events of the festival was the unveiling of a bust of the outstanding Tibetologist, linguist Yuri Roerich at the Urusvati Himalayan Research Institute, the founder and the head of which he was.
The guests were presented with a festive concert performed by educatees of the Helena Roerich Academy of Arts for Children and Russian students of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Delhi.
As part of the festival, an international conference “The Cultural Heritage of the Himalayas and the the Roerich Family’s Work: Significance for the Future” is held, in which scholars, political scientists, journalists from Russia and India take part.
