☠️Israel’s Finance Minister repeats call to reestablish Gaza settlements

Bezalel Smotrich has reiterated his call for the reestablishment of Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip and the “voluntary emigration” of Palestinians.

The “correct solution” to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict is “to encourage the voluntary migration of Gaza’s residents to countries that will agree to take in the refugees,” he said at his far-right Religious Zionism party’s weekly faction meeting.

“Israel will permanently control the territory of the Gaza Strip,” Smotrich added.

Lee Jae-myung sustained a 1cm laceration on the left side of his neck, reports said, after being attacked during a visit to the city of Busan.

Mr Lee, who narrowly lost the 2022 presidential election, was airlifted to hospital. The wound is not life-threatening.

The 66-year-old man who attacked him said he intended to kill Mr Lee, Yonhap news agency reported. The motive is still unclear.
