Got Questions website pushes turn from sins + change of mind = repent somehow means change of mind by repent of sins to be saved heresy.
In Got Questions' article called "How to repent, what does the Bible say", Got Questions first says:
"Essentially, repent means βto change oneβs mindβ about something".
Then Got Questions says:
"Biblical repentance is the recognition that we are helpless to save ourselvesβit is turning from sin..."
Basically, Got Questions backloads and adds turning from sin/of sin into repentance.

Repent of sins/turn from sins for salvation (not the same as biblical repentance) is a damnable heresy because it wants you to work your way to Heaven and trust your illusional self righteousness by the means of you stop sinning and not sinning. @RepentanceExamined

Ezekiel 18:21 KJB
[21] But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
The context of this verse is God explaining that the sins of a father do not pass to the son; neither does the righteousness of a father pass to the wicked son, but βThe soul that sinneth, it shall dieβ(v20).
On the surface this verse and indeed the entire chapter could be used to support the βrepent of your sinsβ idea.
When we stop and read it, it seems to suggest salvation is by works - You must βDoβ and βkeepβ.
But we know that no one could ever do or keep the law, so whatβs going on here?
Why does God say this when βthere is none that doeth good, no not oneβ (Rom 3:12)?
We know that the key word "if" shows us that nobody can do the work of turn-from-sins to be saved as per Ezekiel 18:21; because before Ezekiel 18:21 was written, Psalm 14:3 and Psalm 53:5 KJB say there is none that doeth good:
Psalm 14:3 KJB
[3] They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Psalm 53:5 KJB
[3] Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Again, why does he say here that βin his righteousness that he hath done he shall liveβ (v22), when βAs it is written, There is none righteous, no, not oneβ (Rom 3:10)?
We must conclude from the context of the whole word of God that this section and these works do not mean salvation to every one that does them.
Just because a Hebrew went and sacrificed at the temple and outwardly obeyed the law, doesnβt mean they were saved. Look at what Jesus says to the Pharisees, who kept strictly to the law OUTWARDLY:
Matthew 23:27 KJV
[27] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
What shall we conclude then?
It is always a matter of the heart with God. Check out Ezekiel 18:31!
So what must we do to work the works of God?
John 6:29 KJV
[29] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

People misuse Mark 1:15 by attempting to add "of your sins" into the verse itself.
Mark 1:15 KJB
[15] and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.β
Vs
Mark 1:15 according to the turns from sins crowd/repent-of-sins-to-be-saved crowd that we deal with:
[15] and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent of your sins, and believe the gospel.β
Mark 1:15 literally says repent....and believe the gospel. Meaning, you didn't believe the gospel before and now you do believe the Gospel.
Adding "of sins" into the "repent ye and believe the Gospel" in Mark 1:15 twists & perverts biblical repentance (a change of mind) into the works salvationism heresy of repent of/turn from your sins!

Calvinism's "Repent of sins" idea is an unbiblical lie and heresy:
[1] Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Hebrews 6:1 KJB
"Repent of sins"/turn from sins" is a work and does not save you:
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
Jonah 3:10 KJB
By God's grace through faith on the risen Lord Jesus Christ, not our works, is what saves sinners.
Ephesians 2:8 - 9 KJB
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] not of works, lest any man should boast.
Galatians 2:16 KJB
[16] knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Acts 16:31 KJB
[31] And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Romans 10:9 - 11 KJB
[9] that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Turning from sin is works heresy because you are doing the turning of and not sinning rather than realzing you cannot earn your righteousness before God on your own.
